LORDIAN preaches from a country God abandoned.

The solo project of an Italian musician and member of Asphodelia , LORDIAN steps beyond the boundaries of traditional metal and into a darker, dust-covered world of doom blues, slide guitar, Southern Gothic atmosphere and corrupted gospel. The project's debut album, Black Pastoral , arrives October 22, 2026 , digitally.

Built as a collection of seven bleak and cinematic parables, Black Pastoral explores drought, doubt, suffering, faith and the strange places where mercy and despair collide. Its songs travel through dust roads, drowned fields, shuttered churches and lonely highways, creating a landscape where religion has not necessarily disappeared, but whatever answers once came from above have long since stopped arriving.

This is not simply an album about darkness. It is about what remains when people continue praying after the answers have stopped.

Across Black Pastoral , LORDIAN presents a world where healing does not necessarily mean salvation. Suffering is passed from one body to another, buried in the soil or carried by the beasts. A dying dog sings beneath the wheel of dawn. A wandering healer breaks a fever only to leave fields filled with dead cattle. Christ crosses an American desert on foot and shares a warm beer with the Devil beside a dying gas station, two figures seemingly forgotten by the world around them.

The result is slow, heavy and cinematic, with the weight of doom meeting the rawness of blues, dark Americana and gospel music stripped of its comfort.

Written and produced entirely by LORDIAN, Black Pastoral is a self-produced, one-man recording built around a singular vision. The album was mixed and mastered at Walls Of Sleep Studio , further shaping its stark, haunted atmosphere.

For listeners drawn to the darkness and blues-driven heaviness of Black Label Society , the experimental spiritual intensity of Zeal & Ardor , or the bleak storytelling of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds , Black Pastoral offers something equally shadowed but distinctly its own.
