FLIGHT OF ODIN UNVEILS HAUNTING VIDEO FOR “INSIDIOUS DISGUISE”
Critically Acclaimed Doom Metal Outfit Brings Victorian Horror, Steampunk Imagery and Dark Mythology to Life
Washington, D.C.-area melodic psychedelic doom metal outfit FLIGHT OF ODIN has unveiled a haunting new video for “Insidious Disguise,” featured as Track 3 on Disc Two of the band's 2026 double album, I Traveled The Crooked Path .
The video draws heavily from Victorian-era, Steampunk, and medieval Romanian imagery , evoking the shadowy presence of Count Dracula while exploring themes of deception, control, religion versus paganism, and self-identity .
Is the mask slipping? Is the veil lifting?
The theatrical visuals provide a dark counterpart to Flight of Odin's atmospheric blend of melodic doom, psychedelic rock, progressive music, classical influences, and traditional heavy metal .
The new video arrives following significant recognition for I Traveled The Crooked Path . Rock Hard Magazine awarded the album a 9/10 rating and named it Self-Production Of The Month , praising the band's dreamlike psychedelic atmosphere, melodic sensibility, experimental passages, prominent piano work, and the warm, magnetic vocals of Xyra .
Flight of Odin has also been featured on Metallurg Music Compilation No. 8 - Part 2 , further expanding the band's presence throughout the underground metal community.
Released June 30, 2026 through Riding The Dragonfly LTD , I Traveled The Crooked Path showcases Flight of Odin's most ambitious work to date. The double album combines material from the band's current lineup with remastered material from the Goddess In Smoke era, creating a release that connects the band's past with its evolving present.
The current lineup features Xyra on vocals, Tyler Beddow on guitar, Andrew Cann on bass and keyboards, and Kenny Finger on drums and percussion.
The band recently discussed the album, songwriting, recording without click tracks, classic metal influences, and the importance of keeping music human during an extensive interview on The Zach Moonshine Show on Metal Devastation Radio .
