The Haunted North Unleash “Savage Ghost” – Randy V Talks Origins, Heavy Hitters, and What’s Next on Metal Devastation Radio
If you like your heavy with grit, groove, and zero plastic polish, this one hits like a hammer.
On a recent episode of The Zach Moonshine Show on Metal Devastation Radio, The Haunted North stormed in with their crushing new single “Savage Ghost” , and frontman Randy V pulled back the curtain on how this whole thing came together. The result is a band rooted in real history, real connections, and a sound that doesn’t chase trends, it bulldozes through them.
“It’s like a freaking hammer” – The Sound of Savage Ghost
Right out of the gate, the vibe was clear. This isn’t overproduced, copy-paste rock. This is weight.
“It is smash your head… it’s like a freaking hammer, isn’t it?”
That pretty much sums up Savage Ghost . Thick, groove-heavy riffs with a dark, almost cinematic feel. You can hear the DNA of classic heavy hitters, but it never feels like imitation. It feels lived-in.
Heavy Hitters in the Mix: JD DeServio & Jeff Fabb
One of the big talking points was the involvement of some serious players behind the scenes.
Randy V broke it down:
“JD jumped in… Jeff did the last two singles… these guys literally did their tracks and then jumped on a plane to LA to start rehearsing.”
That kind of commitment shows up in the final product. The rhythm section alone gives Savage Ghost that undeniable punch, the kind that hits you in the chest and sticks.
A Wild Origin Story You Can’t Make Up
The Haunted North didn’t form the usual way. No Craigslist ad, no “hey let’s start a band” moment.
This thing is built on what can only be called pure rock and roll fate.
From gym meetups in Canada…
To connections through Black Label Society circles…
To a chance encounter with Layne Staley’s mother…
Yeah, seriously.
Randy V shared one of the most surreal moments:
“I realized… that’s Layne Staley’s mom… and we ended up becoming really good friends.”
That connection eventually led to the creation of music tied to tribute material, which snowballed into something much bigger.
“It wasn’t coincidental… all that had to happen for us to meet.”
You don’t script stuff like that.
From One-Off Track to Full-Blown Band
What started as a single turned into something else entirely.
“He said, ‘What if I could get Jeff and JD to play on it?’ I said… ‘well, then I’d have to reconsider.’”
That reconsideration turned into a full project, and now The Haunted North is building serious momentum.
Influences: From European Metal to Grunge Darkness
Randy V didn’t shy away from talking influences, and it paints a clear picture of where that sound comes from.
“We were more into European metal… Priest, Schenker… then when everything shifted, the two bands that grabbed you… Soundgarden and Alice In Chains.”
That blend explains a lot. You’ve got the precision and power of classic metal mixed with the mood and weight of early 90s darkness.
And it shows.
No Fake Emotion. No Industry BS.
One of the real standout moments was Randy talking about authenticity in music.
“People know when you’re… not real… when you actually felt it, they hear it.”
That’s the difference between something that sounds good and something that sticks with you.
The Haunted North leans hard into that second category.
Gear Talk… Sort Of
For the tone chasers out there, there were a few nuggets dropped, even if Randy laughed off being “the wrong guy” for full gear breakdowns.
What we do know:
Friedman amps are part of the tone equation
Gibson-style guitars in the mix
A serious, dialed-in setup from guitarist Sean
“I know tones very well… if it sounds like shit, I’ll call it instantly.”
Fair enough.
What’s Next: Live Shows and More Releases
The focus now is simple. Take this thing to the stage.
“We’re hyper focused on getting out and playing live this summer.”
Plans are pointing toward shows around Sturgis and beyond, with more content rolling out, including:
The Bleed video gaining traction
A new Savage Ghost lyric video using 30+ year old footage
A growing catalog of heavy tracks like Medusa , 21 Grams , and The Beast
The Haunted North Is Just Getting Started
There’s something refreshing about a band that isn’t trying to fit into whatever the algorithm says is hot this week.
The Haunted North is building this the old-school way:
Real connections
Real players
Real stories
Real heavy music
And it shows in every riff.

EMPIRE OF NONE ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM “KEEPSAKE” OUT MAY 15, 2026 - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EMPIRE OF NONE ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM “KEEPSAKE” OUT MAY 15, 2026
From the coastal town of Sölvesborg, Sweden, rising alt-rock force Empire of None are stepping into the spotlight with their long-awaited debut full-length album Keepsake , set for release on May 15, 2026.
Blending modern alternative rock with alt-pop hooks, emo urgency, and flashes of punk and post-hardcore intensity, Empire of None carve out a sound that feels both familiar and fresh. Fans of A Day To Remember, Dayseeker, and Sleep Theory will find plenty to latch onto, but this band is clearly building something with its own fingerprints all over it.
Formed in 2018, the band has stayed true to a fully DIY ethos from day one. Every track has been shaped in-house, with the band handling recording, video production, and visual storytelling themselves. That grind has paid off in a sound that feels personal, raw, and unfiltered, no corporate gloss, no shortcuts, just real work and real emotion.
In 2023, Empire of None turned heads across Sweden by landing 2nd place out of 78 acts in the Rockflödet Unsigned competition, proving they can hold their own in any lineup and any room, from sweaty clubs to festival stages.
Now, with Keepsake , the band are ready for a much bigger stage.
About the Album
“Keepsake” is a deeply emotional collection of ten tracks that explore memory, identity, loss, and the moments that shape who we become. The band describes the record as a balance of darkness and light, built around honest storytelling and melodic impact.
“Keepsake is about the things we hold closest to our hearts. The memories, the emotions, everything that has shaped us. Across ten tracks, we have poured our soul into capturing a world where both darkness and light coexist. Every song tells a story. Every word, every note is meant to pull the listener in.”

Empire of None aren’t chasing trends, they’re building momentum the old-school way: write strong songs, hit hard live, and let the music do the talking. With Keepsake , they’re not just releasing an album, they’re opening the door to everything that comes next.

Las Vegas, NV – Las Vegas hard rock band Cyanide is set to unleash their new single “Get Up and Dance” on May 15, arriving on all major streaming platforms including Spotify. The track will also be available for CD release through Kivel Records.
Built on a foundation of classic hard rock energy with a modern punch, “Get Up and Dance” captures Cyanide at full throttle. Driving rhythms, bold vocals, and a straight-ahead rock attitude define the track, delivering a sound made for loud speakers and bigger crowds.

BROADSLAB UNLEASH “HELLACIOUS SOUL METAL” WITH NEW ALBUM THE FIFTH ESSENCE — OUT JUNE 26, 2026 - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BROADSLAB UNLEASH “HELLACIOUS SOUL METAL” WITH NEW ALBUM THE FIFTH ESSENCE — OUT JUNE 26, 2026
Benson, NC – From the dusty outskirts of North Carolina comes a sound that doesn’t ask permission and sure as hell doesn’t play it safe. Broadslab are set to drop their full-length album The Fifth Essence on June 26, 2026 via Electric Desert Records, delivering a heavy, groove-soaked punch they’ve branded as “Hellacious Soul Metal.”
Leading the charge is the first single, “Keep on Rollin’,” released April 24, 2026, followed by the second single “Leslie” arriving May 22, 2026. Both tracks give listeners a taste of the band’s raw blend of Southern grit, psychedelic soul, and no-frills heavy metal muscle.
Broadslab pull from deep roots, fusing the spirit of classic rock with a darker, modern edge. Think the swampy groove of Southern rock colliding head-on with thick, down-tuned riffs and outlaw attitude. Fans of Corrosion of Conformity, Superjoint Ritual, and Down will feel right at home, but Broadslab aren’t just rehashing the past, they’re dragging it into the present, kicking and screaming.
The band’s name traces back to a region steeped in moonshine history, and that outlaw DNA runs through everything they do. Their music channels stories of midnight runs, backroad chases, and a lifestyle that doesn’t clock in or punch out. It’s loud, it’s dangerous, and it’s got dirt under its fingernails.
Recorded and mixed by Mike Dean and produced by Broadslab alongside Dean, The Fifth Essence captures the band in full throttle, no studio polish masking the grit. Just honest, hard-hitting sound the way it was meant to be.
North Carolina concert promoter Tony “Dio” Leonard sums it up best:
"If the Allman Brothers, Black Sabbath and Captain Beyond had a threesome, Broadslab would be the dirty result."
This isn’t just another release, it’s a statement. Broadslab are here to carve out their own lane and leave tire marks all over it.

LANGUISH IN DESPAIR DROP “KILLING SPREE” OUT NOW AND ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM STRAIN OF PROFANITY - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LANGUISH IN DESPAIR DROP “KILLING SPREE” OUT NOW AND ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM STRAIN OF PROFANITY
Canadian/Australian death metal unit LANGUISH IN DESPAIR have officially unleashed their latest slab of brutality, “Killing Spree,” now available worldwide via CDN Records. The track arrives as a full force statement ahead of their upcoming full-length album Strain of Profanity , set for release May 21, 2026.
This is not cleaned up, not softened, and not built for comfort. This is death metal stripped down to the bone.
Built on a foundation of pure hostility and minimalist extremity, LANGUISH IN DESPAIR operate as a two-piece with zero interest in polish, trends, or accessibility. What you get is raw execution, fast impact, and absolute underground intent. No filler. No gloss. No mercy.
The project features Jason, known for his work with Human Barbecue and Putrified J, alongside his transcontinental counterpart Marcel. Together they lock into a shared vision of relentless aggression, trading finesse for force and atmosphere for straight violence.
“Killing Spree” wastes no time. Blistering percussion, razor edged guitar tone, and guttural vocal delivery collide in a track that feels less like it was written and more like it was released into the world fully formed and fully hostile. It hits hard and keeps hitting harder.
With Strain of Profanity , the duo pushes that same philosophy into a full length assault built on chainsaw intensity, suffocating speed, and no interest in compromise. It is designed to punish speakers and listeners alike.
Two countries. One mission. Total death metal devastation.

STALEMATE OF WILLS FEATURED IN Metal Injection WEEKLY INJECTION ALONGSIDE HEAVY HITTERS AS THEY UNLEASH FULL-LENGTH ALBUM EXISTENCE DENIED — OUT NOW VIA FFTC RECORDS - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
STALEMATE OF WILLS FEATURED IN Metal Injection WEEKLY INJECTION ALONGSIDE HEAVY HITTERS AS THEY UNLEASH FULL-LENGTH ALBUM EXISTENCE DENIED — OUT NOW VIA FFTC RECORDS
Appearing in “New Releases Out This Week – 5/1” | Stream the Crushing Single “Two Worlds” Now
Pittsburgh, PA — Doom-laden heaviness just kicked the door in. Rising underground force Stalemate of Wills have officially released their debut full-length album, Existence Denied , out now via FFTC Records. Loaded with suffocating riffs, bleak atmosphere, and raw emotional weight, the record puts this trio firmly on the map in the Doomcore and Sludge underground.
The band is already gaining serious traction, landing a feature in the Weekly Injection from Metal Injection as part of the “New Releases Out This Week – 5/1” roundup. They’re in strong company too, appearing alongside heavyweights like Sevendust and The Claypool Lennon Delirium , as well as a stacked lineup including -(16)-, Cage Fight, Health, Cognizance, Infected Dead, and Spell. Not a bad table to be sitting at.

/>
Leading the charge is the album’s standout single, “Two Worlds,” a crushing introduction to the band’s sound. Built on down-tuned groove, punishing atmosphere, and emotionally charged vocals, the track hits like a cinder block to the chest and lingers long after it’s over.
Listen to “Two Worlds” now:

/>
Drawing influence from sludge legends like Crowbar , Kingdom of Sorrow , and Down , Stalemate of Wills blend old-school weight with a modern edge. Their mantra of delivering “heavy riffs for a withering world” rings loud across Existence Denied , a record that dives into themes of internal collapse and external decay without pulling punches.
The trio lineup includes:
Derek Frustration – Guitar/Vocals
Jake Morris – Bass
Bob McSherry – Drums
Produced, mixed, and mastered by Eric Klinger , the album delivers a raw but clear punch, capturing the band’s intensity without sanding off the grit.
With Existence Denied now out in the wild and already rubbing shoulders with major names, Stalemate of Wills are proving they’ve got the weight, the grit, and the songs to back it up.
For fans of: Crowbar, Kingdom of Sorrow, Down
Genre: Doomcore / Sludgecore / Doom Metal / Sludge Metal

CRYSTALLION HONOR METAL LEGENDS WITH NEW MANOWAR TRIBUTE SINGLE, CONFIRM NEW ALBUM IN THE WORKS - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CRYSTALLION HONOR METAL LEGENDS WITH NEW MANOWAR TRIBUTE SINGLE, CONFIRM NEW ALBUM IN THE WORKS
Bavarian heavy power metal outfit Crystallion return with a powerful new single, a tribute cover of a classic Manowar anthem, released in memory of legendary guitarist Ross the Boss . The track stands as both a salute to one of heavy metal’s most influential figures and a statement of respect to the roots that helped shape the genre itself.
The band delivers the cover with a heavier, more modern edge while staying true to the spirit and majesty of the original. It is raw, direct, and unapologetically metal, exactly what fans have come to expect from Crystallion’s renewed creative era.
The release marks an important moment in the band’s current chapter, as they continue to sharpen their identity following years of evolution, lineup changes, and a rebuilt creative direction. Rather than looking backward, Crystallion are using this moment to bridge their legacy sound with a more aggressive and focused modern approach.
Alongside the new single, Crystallion have confirmed that work is well underway on their upcoming sixth studio album. Recording sessions are scheduled for summer 2026 in Munich , with the record expected for release in Winter 2026/27 . The new material is being described as their most direct and forceful work to date, combining classic power metal foundations with a heavier, more urgent edge.
The upcoming album will mark a defining step forward for the band, expanding on the momentum of their recent creative resurgence while pushing deeper into a modernized sound without losing their identity.
Crystallion are not revisiting the past. They are reshaping it.
This new era is already in motion, and the message is clear. The fire is still burning, and it is only getting hotter.

CRYSTALLION RETURN TO THE ROAD WITH EUROPEAN TOUR, FESTIVAL RUN, NEW ALBUM ON THE HORIZON, AND TRIBUTE COVER RELEASE HONORING ROSS THE BOSS - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CRYSTALLION RETURN TO THE ROAD WITH EUROPEAN TOUR, FESTIVAL RUN, NEW ALBUM ON THE HORIZON, AND TRIBUTE COVER RELEASE HONORING ROSS THE BOSS
Bavarian heavy power metal outfit Crystallion are back in full force in 2026 , launching a major European tour that marks one of the most active and defining chapters in the band’s long history.
Following years of evolution, lineup changes, and a sharpened modern sound, Crystallion have re-emerged with renewed energy and a heavier, more aggressive edge than ever before. The current lineup delivers a tighter, harder hitting version of the band’s classic identity, stripping things down to a more direct and powerful metal assault.
What started with a steady rebuild across Germany, Poland, Austria, Czech Republic, and Switzerland has now grown into a full European campaign. In 2024, the band shared stages with acts such as Riot , Stormwarrior , Wings of Steel , Savage Master , and Crystal Viper , followed by a co-headlining run in 2025 with Serbian epic metal force Claymorean . Now in 2026, Crystallion take the next step with a tour spanning more than 10 countries, including high profile support appearances with Grave Digger and 5th Angel .
From club shows to festivals and cross border metal nights, the band is making one thing clear. This is not a reunion story, this is a full scale return.
Even without a new studio album released yet, Crystallion’s momentum is undeniable. Recording sessions are already scheduled for summer 2026 in Munich , with a new album planned for a Winter 2026/27 release . The record will mark the next major chapter in their discography and further define their modern sound direction.
Adding to the momentum, Crystallion have just released a powerful tribute cover of a classic Manowar anthem, dedicated in memory of legendary guitarist Ross the Boss . The release stands as both a salute to his influence and a nod to the roots that shaped generations of heavy metal. It is raw, respectful, and delivered with full force.
To close out the year, Crystallion will celebrate a major milestone on December 4th, 2026 with a special 20th anniversary performance of their debut album A Dark Enchanted Crystal Night . The unique show will take place in Bavaria and will feature the album performed in full.
Fans can also expect a return to large scale international touring in 2027 , alongside the release cycle for the upcoming sixth studio album.
Crystallion are no longer quietly rebuilding. They are stepping forward with intent, volume, and firepower.
This is the next era of the band.

RIFTPATROL LAUNCHES CINEMATIC UNIVERSE WITH NEW SINGLE “PARASITE” FEAT. YUUKO SINGS, DJ NEON NIGHTS & AMANDA POWER - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RIFTPATROL LAUNCHES CINEMATIC UNIVERSE WITH NEW SINGLE “PARASITE” FEAT. YUUKO SINGS, DJ NEON NIGHTS & AMANDA POWER
Riftpatrol, the boundary-pushing project formed in 2025, is stepping fully into its own lane with the release of their new single “Parasite,” out now on all major platforms.
Built as more than just a music project, Riftpatrol fuses modern heavy music with cinematic storytelling and a growing visual universe. The sound pulls from metalcore, alternative rock, goth, and J-rock, shifting between crushing heaviness and eerie atmosphere without ever settling into one box. It hits hard, then pulls you into something stranger right after.
At the center of Riftpatrol’s world is The Captain, a detective navigating fractured realities, chasing truth across timelines and broken dimensions. Every release adds another chapter to the story, expanding through manga and webtoon-inspired visuals where characters evolve alongside the music itself.
“Parasite” is the latest entry in that unfolding narrative, and it does not hold back. The track explores isolation, emotional weight, and the slow collapse that comes when you feel disconnected from everything around you. It is heavy in both sound and meaning, built to pull the listener directly into that headspace.
The single features Yuuko Sings, DJ Neon Nights, and Amanda Power, bringing together a global mix of voices and styles. The result is a cinematic metalcore and J-rock fusion layered with multilingual vocals, eerie melodies, and massive drops that swing between beauty and chaos.
Riftpatrol continues to build through collaboration, bringing together artists from different countries, languages, and creative backgrounds. The goal is not to fit into a scene, but to build a universe of its own.
“Parasite” is out now.

Bjarte K. Helland Announces New EP Scorched — Out May 2, 2026 via F.T.A.T.P - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bjarte K. Helland Announces New EP Scorched — Out May 2, 2026 via F.T.A.T.P
Bergen, Norway — Norwegian drummer and composer Bjarte K. Helland is set to release his new progressive metal EP Scorched on May 2, 2026 , delivering a rhythm-driven, cinematic take on modern instrumental metal that pushes the drum kit right to the front where it belongs.
Built from a composer’s mindset and a drummer’s instincts, Helland’s solo project flips the traditional progressive script. Instead of guitars leading the charge, Scorched is shaped from the kit outward, creating a heavy, dynamic, and atmospheric sound world where rhythm dictates structure, tension, and release.
Fans of technical and fusion-driven progressive metal will feel right at home alongside the energy of Liquid Tension Experiment, the futuristic precision of Planet X, and the modern complexity of Animals as Leaders.
Helland, known for his work with FastLoaders, Pitch Black Mentality, and Quadrasonic, brings a wide musical background into this release, blending progressive metal, fusion, and experimental instrumental styles into something both aggressive and cinematic.
A heavier evolution
The upcoming EP features collaborations with internationally respected musicians including Billy Sheehan, Jarle H. Olsen, James Pulli, Yas Nomura, and Tore Christer Storlid , adding extra weight and depth to an already ambitious project.
Helland explains the direction behind the release:
“ Scorched is my second solo EP and the first time I recorded and mixed the drums in my own studio, which gave me a much closer connection to the sound and the direction of the release. Compared to my previous EP, this one moves further toward the heavier side of progressive metal, while still keeping the melodic and cinematic elements that are important to me as a composer. The title captures both the erosion of the rule-based world we once relied on globally, and the reality that growth often comes through challenging and transformative experiences. Each track explores a different aspect of that tension, from the fierceness of Lupus Ferox to the more eclectic atmosphere of Embers Eternal .”

MARTYRED ANNOUNCE NEW EP “EMPIRICAL TORMENT” AND FIRST SINGLE “WHERE THE BODIES LIE” - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MARTYRED ANNOUNCE NEW EP “EMPIRICAL TORMENT” AND FIRST SINGLE “WHERE THE BODIES LIE”
Austin, Texas – Independent death metal force Martyred return with full impact, unleashing their new single “Where the Bodies Lie,” out now across all major streaming platforms. The track serves as the first brutal preview of their upcoming EP “Empirical Torment,” set for release on May 8th, 2026.
Formed in 2003 by guitarist Mike DeBord, Martyred carved their place in the underground with razor-sharp riffing, blackened thrash undertones, chaotic time signatures, and pit-ready groove violence. After a hiatus in 2010, the band reformed in 2017 and has been steadily rebuilding momentum ever since. The current lineup features Oscar Martinez (vocals), Mike DeBord (guitars), Ankur Patel (guitars), Stephen Fernandez (bass), and Rene Martinez (drums), with DeBord remaining the creative engine from day one.
Lyrically, Martyred confronts harsh reality head-on, tackling war, psychological trauma, and the darker corners of human experience with unfiltered intensity. No metaphors for comfort. No soft landings. Just truth delivered at volume.
Sonically, the band operates in the same extreme sphere as Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Suffocation, and Immolation, while still carving out a distinct identity through complex structure and crushing forward momentum.
The upcoming EP “Empirical Torment” pushes Martyred deeper into their most dynamic and punishing material to date. The release also features a special guest appearance from Ricky Myers, whose vocal contribution adds another layer of veteran brutality to the record.
“This follow-up independent EP, Empirical Torment , takes Martyred’s sound on a blistering sonic journey full of twists, turns, and grooves,” says guitarist Mike DeBord. “Longtime friend and supporter of the band, Ricky Myers stepped up and delivered on vocals. He absolutely brought a level of intensity that elevated the whole record.”
Empirical Torment was mixed and mastered by Juan Urteaga at Trident Studios, ensuring a dense, aggressive sound that captures every blast beat, fractured riff, and ounce of controlled chaos the band is known for.

Metal Devastation PR returns to print in a big way with a featured advertisement in Decibel Magazine Issue #260, showcasing a stacked roster of underground heavy weights and continuing its mission to push extreme metal into the hands of the faithful.
This month’s campaign highlights a crushing lineup of client artists including Cyanide , Illunina AD , Sonus , Aranda , Archfiend , Voidmonger , My Dark Fate , and Deteriorot . Each act represents a different edge of the underground spectrum, from raw aggression to atmospheric heaviness, unified under one banner of uncompromising sound.
Issue #260 arrives loaded with major features and exclusive content, including Khemmis on the cover and a limited edition Hellripper flexi disc. Readers will also find coverage of At the Gates, Nervosa, Frozen Soul, Elder, Hell’s Heroes VIII, and a Decibel Hall of Fame feature on Suffocation’s iconic Pierced From Within. Additional coverage includes Ghoul, Filth Is Eternal, Funebrarum, Hecate Enthroned, Yoth Iria, Poison Ruin, and more.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THE HAUNTED NORTH ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE AND LYRIC VIDEO “SAVAGE GHOST” FEATURING MEMBERS OF BLACK LABEL SOCIETY
Out May 1 via White Choker Publishing LLC (ASCAP/SOCAN)
The Haunted North announce their new single and official lyric video “Savage Ghost,” arriving May 1 , featuring contributions from two standout names in modern hard rock and metal: John "JD" DeServio and Jeff Fabb of Black Label Society .
The release pairs the band’s heavy, groove-driven sound with a full visual push, bringing “Savage Ghost” to life with a lyric video built to match its intensity, atmosphere, and raw edge.
Musically, the track leans into crushing riffs, haunting melodic hooks, and a cinematic weight that reflects the band’s growing identity in modern hard rock and alt-metal. The presence of DeServio and Fabb adds serious pedigree and muscle to an already aggressive foundation.
Formed by vocalist and producer Randy V alongside Canadian guitarist Sean Francis , The Haunted North first broke through with their 2018 debut Monster , which also featured early collaboration with both DeServio and Fabb . The current lineup, with Mike Delta on drums, delivers a locked-in, road-tested backbone, while Fabb continues to appear on select studio recordings.
With prior releases including “21 Grams,” “Medusa,” “Black Flag Flying,” and 2025’s “The Beast,” the band continues to build momentum toward a larger statement. “Savage Ghost” marks a defining step forward, combining underground grit, classic rock swagger, and modern metal precision.

Hell-Born Unleash New Single “In Scarlet and Death” + Pre-Orders Now Live for Upcoming Album “VII” - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hell-Born Unleash New Single “In Scarlet and Death” + Pre-Orders Now Live for Upcoming Album “VII”
Polish blackened death metal veterans Hell-Born return with a vengeance, announcing their long-awaited new full-length album “VII” , set for release this July via Odium Records .
Leading the charge is the band’s first video single, “In Scarlet and Death” , a crushing preview of what promises to be their most ambitious and ominous material to date. Watch it now:
Originally formed in 1996 by Baal and Les , both associated with extreme metal giants Behemoth , Hell-Born have spent decades carving out their own legacy with a relentless blend of old-school black and death metal. With “VII” , they push their sound even further into dark, apocalyptic territory.
The album features seven tracks of punishing, no-nonsense black/death metal, laced with the eerie melodic touches the band is known for. Recorded, mixed, and mastered at Creme de la Creme Studio, “VII” stands as the band’s most complex and foreboding release to date.
Pre-orders are now live:
https://www.odiumrex.com/webshop
/>
https://odiumrecords.bandcamp.com
Available formats include:
CD — 12-panel deluxe digipack in the shape of an inverted cross
LP — gatefold, heavy black vinyl
Vinyl Wooden Box — LP, CD, T-shirt, patch, and certificate (limited to 50 copies)
CD Wooden Box — CD, patch, and certificate (limited to 50 copies)
This isn’t some polished, overproduced trend-chasing record. This is the real deal. Raw, sinister, and built for diehard fans who still remember what extreme metal is supposed to feel like.
For fans of: Behemoth, Vader, Marduk, Immolation, Belphegor
If you’ve been waiting for something that hits like the late 90s but still sounds alive in 2026, “VII” is shaping up to be exactly that.

Edsel Dope Allegedly Attempted To Block Release Of Wayne Static Collaboration “Crash: Reborn,” According To Producer Mikel Johnston - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Edsel Dope Allegedly Attempted To Block Release Of Wayne Static Collaboration “Crash: Reborn,” According To Producer Mikel Johnston
The explosive new version of “Crash: Reborn” by Mephisto Odyssey featuring the late Wayne Static has officially surpassed 1.3 million views on YouTube . However, according to producer Mikel Johnston, the track faced unexpected challenges prior to its release .
Johnston alleges that Edsel Dope, acting manager of Static-X , opposed the collaboration after becoming aware of the project and attempted to have both the song and its accompanying video halted . Johnston further claims that outreach was made to licensing representatives at Rhino Entertainment Company in an effort to stop the release .
A Billboard Top 40 producer whose credits include work with Jane's Addiction and Blondie, Johnston expressed surprise at what he describes as resistance to newly released material featuring Wayne Static, noting the strong response from fans .
While Johnston states he holds no personal animosity , he characterizes the situation as a broader discussion about how Wayne Static’s legacy is represented . He also shared his personal perspective regarding recent Static-X-related releases and imagery , emphasizing that his intention with “Crash: Reborn” was to celebrate Wayne’s original artistry, collaborations, and creative identity .
With the track’s growing success , Johnston indicates he may continue revisiting and reimagining additional material connected to Wayne Static’s catalog.
“I did multiple remixes for Static-X in addition to writing with Wayne. He trusted me and liked my approach to his style. I believe his legacy deserves to be represented in a way that reflects his original vision.”
— Mikel Johnston

GRAVEMASS IGNITES UNDERGROUND BUZZ WITH NEW 8/10 REVIEW FROM BRINGER OF DEATH - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GRAVEMASS IGNITES UNDERGROUND BUZZ WITH NEW 8/10 REVIEW FROM BRINGER OF DEATH
Vancouver, B.C. Canada based extreme metal force Gravemass is continuing to turn heads in the underground after landing a strong new review from Bringer of Death , highlighting their 2026 album “This Is The Wat” via Endgame Records .
The review praises the band’s aggressive fusion of black metal, death metal, and speed metal , calling attention to their ability to blend styles into a sound that is both chaotic and controlled. From the opening moments, “This Is The Wat” sets a dark tone with atmospheric soundscapes before exploding into full force heaviness, driven by relentless riffs and crushing percussion.
Bringer of Death points out the vocal assault as a key standout, noting a mix of death metal growls and black metal screams , along with moments that incorporate shouted passages and spoken word sections for added intensity. The result is a record that constantly shifts and evolves without losing its core brutality.
Instrumentally, the review highlights the band’s use of dark melodic guitar work layered over powerful production , with frequent transitions between slow-burning passages, mid-tempo punishment, and blistering speed metal bursts. When the tempo spikes, the blast beats hit hard and keep the momentum locked in at full force.
Lyrically, “This Is The Wat” leans heavily into themes of occultism, blasphemy, and anti-Christian imagery , reinforcing the record’s dark and confrontational identity. According to the review, the production is “very professional,” giving each instrument space to cut through the chaos while still maintaining a raw underground edge.
Bringer of Death summarizes Gravemass as a band that successfully merges multiple extreme metal styles into a unified and recognizable identity, ultimately rating the album 8 out of 10 .
Recommended tracks include:
“Slave To Pain”
“Harvest Of Souls”
“Fallen”
“Poison Temple”
With strong critical momentum building, Gravemass continues to establish themselves as a serious name in the modern extreme metal underground.

ELEMENT OF FATE IGNITES “DREAMFALL” KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN APRIL 30 — EXCLUSIVE REWARDS, NEW VISUALS, AND CINEMATIC METAL ON THE HORIZON - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ELEMENT OF FATE IGNITES “DREAMFALL” KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN APRIL 30 — EXCLUSIVE REWARDS, NEW VISUALS, AND CINEMATIC METAL ON THE HORIZON
Washington, DC / Portland, OR – Melodic heavy metal duo Element of Fate are gearing up to launch their highly anticipated Dreamfall Kickstarter campaign on April 30, 2026 , running through June 3, 2026 . Serving as the driving force behind their debut full-length album and an ambitious in-house produced music video, the campaign invites fans to step directly into the band’s creative world—and help bring it to life.
Following the release of their dark, gothic visualizer for Warhorse , Element of Fate are doubling down on momentum with a steady rollout of promotional video content leading into launch day. Fans can check out the first teaser, already live here:
A second clip is also now available:
Additional videos will continue to drop throughout the campaign, offering behind-the-scenes glimpses and building anticipation for what promises to be one of 2026’s most immersive independent metal releases.
Fans can follow the pre-launch page now to be notified the moment the campaign goes live:

/>
At its core, Dreamfall is more than just an album—it’s a full-scale artistic statement blending music, fantasy, and visual storytelling.
“Dreamfall is the most personal and ambitious project I’ve ever created as an artist.” – Madame Crol
“This project is about transformation, finding light even in darker places.” – Element of Fate
“We wanted to create something that feels epic, emotional, and real.” – Element of Fate
The Kickstarter campaign will fund the completion of the album and a cinematic music video produced entirely in-house by vocalist and visual artist Carol Phillips at her studio, Inlumined Arts. Backers will gain access to a range of exclusive rewards, including limited-edition merchandise and handcrafted collectibles.
Among the standout offerings are handmade bronze key and coin pieces , individually crafted and finished by a dedicated jewelry artist—high-end, limited items designed to reflect the mythic and symbolic themes of Dreamfall . These aren’t your typical band merch table throwaways—these are collector-grade pieces with real weight behind them.
Formed between Washington, DC and Portland, Oregon, Element of Fate combines soaring vocals, intricate instrumentation, and cinematic depth into a sound that bridges classic heavy metal with symphonic, gothic, and progressive influences. With Dreamfall , they’re pushing that vision even further—building a world fans won’t just hear, but experience.
With the clock ticking toward April 30, the message is simple: get in early, follow the campaign, and be part of something being built from the ground up.
If this thing takes off, Element of Fate won’t just be busy—they’ll be firing on all cylinders.
Follow, support, and stay tuned— Dreamfall is coming.

WE ALL RISE Talks Debut Album, Working With BIOHAZARD’s BILLY GRAZIADEI, And EVAN SEINFELD Collaboration On “Crown” - @thebeast
WE ALL RISE Talks Debut Album, Working With BIOHAZARD’s BILLY GRAZIADEI, And EVAN SEINFELD Collaboration On “Crown”
Rising groove metal outfit We All Rise recently appeared on The Zach Moonshine Show on Metal Devastation Radio, where they discussed their debut album The Beginning of the End , working with Billy Graziadei , and how their collaboration with Evan Seinfeld unexpectedly played a role in reigniting BIOHAZARD.
Speaking about the band’s formation, members explained that the project came together after years of experience in the scene.
“We’ve all been playing music our whole lives… working on different projects… and it just felt like it was time to put it out there.”
The band also opened up about the challenge of finding a name that truly represented their message.
“It was an uphill battle… a couple months just throwing names back and forth.”
The name ultimately came from a personal moment.
“My wife gave me a card… and one line said, ‘If one rises, we all rise.’ I looked at it and said, that’s it.”
They added that the abbreviation carries its own weight.
“When you shorten it down… it’s WAR.”
“HE’S LIKE THE FIFTH MEMBER OF THE BAND”
We All Rise credited Billy Graziadei with playing a major role in shaping both the album and the band itself.
“We consider him the fifth member of the band.”
Graziadei’s involvement went beyond production duties.
“He would be the first one up, already working… even after 16 hours in the studio.”
The band emphasized his mentorship and personal investment.
“He helped develop the band… not just musically, but in life.”
“THE FIRST TIME IN 15 YEARS”
One of the biggest moments surrounding the album is the track “Crown,” which features Evan Seinfeld .
According to the band, the collaboration had deeper implications than expected.
“That was the first real contact Billy and Evan had in almost 15 years.”
They revealed that the track marked the first time the two had worked together in over a decade.
“It was the first time we heard them together in that long.”
The band believes the collaboration helped spark BIOHAZARD’s reunion.
“They inspired us… and we were able to inspire them again. Full circle.”
“WE DIDN’T WANT PLUGINS. WE WANTED THAT REAL SOUND”
We All Rise also detailed their decision to take a fully analog-style approach to recording the album.
“If we fucked up, we redid the whole song.”
The band used real amps, live drums, and avoided digital shortcuts.
“We didn’t want plugins. We wanted that real sound.”
They added that imperfections were part of the appeal.
“It’s not a machine… it’s real. It’s emotions.”
INFLUENCES AND SOUND
Drawing influence from bands like Biohazard and the late ’90s groove metal and hardcore scene, We All Rise aim to bring that energy into a modern context.
“I’m a big ’90s guy… that music stuck with me.”
“UNITY”
When asked to define the band’s message, the answer was direct.
“If I could sum it up in one word… unity.”
The band addressed the current state of division in the world and emphasized their goal of bringing people together.
“There’s too much division right now.”
At the same time, they aim to inspire perseverance.
“Life is tough… but you keep fighting. Tomorrow’s another day.”
LOOKING AHEAD
With The Beginning of the End now available and tour plans underway, We All Rise are continuing to build momentum.
The band also made it clear they are open to connecting with fans and media.
“We answer everybody… we want to hear what people think.”
We All Rise’s full interview on The Zach Moonshine Show is available now via Mixcloud.

MENTAL ANGUISH Unleashes Brutal Grindcore Assault From the Buffalo and Niagara Underground - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RELEASE DATE: June 6th via CDN RECORDS
MENTAL ANGUISH Unleashes Brutal Grindcore Assault From the Buffalo and Niagara Underground
Emerging from the gritty borderlands of Niagara Falls and Buffalo, New York, Mental Anguish arrives with a no-frills, full-force grindcore attack forged from decades of underground experience and a deep refusal to dial anything down.
While the name is new to the modern extreme metal landscape, the people behind it are anything but. The members have carved their reputations in the trenches of Western New York’s underground, cutting teeth in bands like Immortal Terror, Grotesque Infection, Eternal Torment, Arsenic Disposal, and Anthropic. All that history gets funneled straight into something faster, heavier, and more merciless.
Mental Anguish operates with a simple lineup and a simple mission: destroy everything in their path.
Chris Hull delivers guttural, barked vocals that hit like a warning siren in a collapsing factory. Carl Pace carves out razor-edged guitar riffs with surgical precision. Russ Martin holds down the low end with thick, crushing bass lines. Jim Santillo turns the kit into a war zone, hammering out relentless blast beats and chaotic rhythms with zero restraint.
This is grindcore in its purest form. Fast. Ugly. Efficient. No wasted motion.
In 2024, the band introduced themselves with their debut release Demo ’24 , recorded at Watchmen Studios. Across five tracks including “Construct of Fear,” “Perilous Grasp,” and “Whore of Babylon,” Mental Anguish laid down a statement of intent: songs that rarely stretch past two minutes but hit like they could level a block. It is raw, unfiltered extremity captured exactly as it should be, loud, abrasive, and unapologetic.
What sets Mental Anguish apart is not just speed or heaviness, but the weight of where they come from. The Niagara and Buffalo underground has long been a breeding ground for DIY extremity, and this band carries that tradition forward without compromise. No trends. No polish. No dilution.
Just impact.
With Demo ’24 already making noise in underground circles, Mental Anguish is now poised for the next step, pushing deeper into the modern grindcore landscape while staying firmly rooted in the chaos that built them. Whether in cramped basement venues or spreading through underground networks worldwide, this is a band built to overwhelm.
Western New York grind is alive, loud, and not asking permission.
And Mental Anguish is leading the charge.

EATEN BY SHARKS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM THE UNDERTOW OF HATE. FIRST SINGLE “CAPSIZED” DROPS MAY 30 VIA CDN RECORDS - @thebeast

EATEN BY SHARKS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM THE UNDERTOW OF HATE . FIRST SINGLE “CAPSIZED” DROPS MAY 30 VIA CDN RECORDS

Canada’s rising extreme metal force Eaten By Sharks return with a vengeance, announcing their upcoming full-length album The Undertow Of Hate , set for release July 17, 2026 via CDN Records. Leading the charge is the album’s first single, “Capsized,” arriving May 30 and delivering a crushing preview of the band’s most focused and punishing material to date.
Blending progressive death metal with technical precision, groove-heavy riffs, and deathcore aggression, Eaten By Sharks have evolved far beyond their earlier Eradication era. With The Undertow Of Hate , the band leans fully into a composition-driven approach, crafting songs that prioritize flow, momentum, and unpredictability over formula.
“Capsized” serves as the opening descent into the album’s dark conceptual narrative. It captures the moment where calm waters give way to chaos, setting the tone for a cinematic journey through isolation, destruction, and transformation at sea. The track showcases the band’s signature balance of polyrhythmic complexity, shifting time signatures, and straight crushing groove, all while maintaining cohesion.
The band states:
“Eaten By Sharks follow up their 2022 release, Eradication , with a more refined and fully realized record in The Undertow of Hate . This album reflects a deeper understanding of who we are as artists. We took time to fully immerse ourselves in the writing process and build a cohesive concept rooted in a single cinematic moment of horror. The record follows a journey that begins in calm, descends into chaos at sea, and ultimately returns to where it started, transformed into something darker and irreversible.
Throughout the album, subtle thematic details and visual elements tie directly into the overarching concept, creating a unified experience between the music and the artwork. Musically, we push further into the sound we’ve become known for, blending polyrhythms, odd time signatures, and crushing grooves while always prioritizing flow and momentum between ideas.
Working again with producer Christian Donaldson helped tighten the performances and bring out the best in the material. The Undertow of Hate represents some of our most focused and punishing work to date. It is heavy, groovy, and constantly evolving without losing coherence.”
Produced by Eaten By Sharks and Christian Donaldson, and engineered, mixed, and mastered by Donaldson, the album captures the band at their sharpest and most intentional. Each track shifts between technical brutality, groove-laden passages, and relentless aggression, all tied together by a dark conceptual thread rooted in nautical horror.
For fans of Fit For An Autopsy, Gojira, and Cattle Decapitation, The Undertow Of Hate is shaping up to be a standout release in modern extreme metal, pushing boundaries while staying firmly grounded in heaviness.

Red Vinter Unleash New Single “Cryptic Site” From Upcoming Album Ghost In The Fog - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Red Vinter Unleash New Single “Cryptic Site” From Upcoming Album Ghost In The Fog
St. Paul, MN – Doom and death metal crushers Red Vinter are back with a vengeance, dropping their brand new single “Cryptic Site” today, April 24, 2026. Serving as the first glimpse into their forthcoming second full-length album Ghost In The Fog , the track hits like a slow-moving freight train wrapped in fog and fire.
Recorded at Minneapolis’ renowned 14:59 Studios, Ghost In The Fog marks a serious step forward for the band. The album was co-produced by vocalist/bassist Mike Bullock alongside engineer Will Maravelas, the same force behind their debut Lumbering Menace . This time around, Red Vinter lean even harder into the abyss, delivering eight tracks that crank up the weight, atmosphere, and emotional punch.
“Cryptic Site” sets the tone right out of the gate. It’s tense, suffocating, and cinematic in all the right ways. Built on crawling riffs and a sense of looming dread, the song pulls listeners into a nightmarish scene of confusion, fear, and survival. Lines like “What – what is this place? Where – where am I?” and the desperate cry of “RUNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!” paint a vivid picture of being trapped in something unknown and dangerous, while the band’s signature low-and-slow heaviness drives it straight into your chest.
The single also shows how far the band has come since Lumbering Menace , which continues to gain traction across underground radio. Tracks like “Ashes” and “Insurgent” have been making the rounds on stations including WXAX, KFAI, KMSU, and beyond, building a loyal following the old-school way… one spin at a time.
Fans won’t have to wait long to hear “Cryptic Site” in its natural habitat either. Red Vinter are set to bring the new material to the stage at Sinkfest II, where they’ll debut the track live alongside crowd favorites. Expect it to be loud, slow, and absolutely punishing.
With Ghost In The Fog on the horizon and “Cryptic Site” now out in the wild, Red Vinter are doubling down on what they do best… heavy, haunting, no-frills doom that sticks with you long after the speakers stop shaking.

Day 40 Unleash New Single “Tyrant of Syracuse” Featuring Kris Norris — Second Strike From Upcoming Album Phenomenon - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Day 40 Unleash New Single “Tyrant of Syracuse” Featuring Kris Norris — Second Strike From Upcoming Album Phenomenon
London, UK – UK metal force Day 40 return with a vengeance, dropping their brand new single “Tyrant of Syracuse” today. The track serves as the second single from their highly anticipated full-length album Phenomenon , set for worldwide release on June 12, 2026.
Following the release of the first single “Tunguska” earlier this year, Day 40 double down with a track that hits harder, cuts deeper, and expands their sonic arsenal. “Tyrant of Syracuse” showcases the band’s signature blend of thrash precision, melodic tension, and cinematic atmosphere, while pushing their sound into even more ambitious territory.
Adding serious firepower to the track is guitarist Kris Norris (ex- Darkest Hour ), who tears through a blistering guest solo that brings an extra layer of intensity. The song also features multi-instrumentalist Nikolay Velev , known for his work with Scapegoat and others, contributing rich, atmospheric keyboards that elevate the track’s epic scope.
It’s been a long road since Day 40’s debut album Only The Stones Remain , released twelve years ago, but this is a band that clearly didn’t sit still. With the addition of virtuoso lead guitarist Nikolay Atanasov and powerhouse drummer Hugo Terva, the lineup is tighter, sharper, and ready to do some real damage.
“Tyrant of Syracuse” dives into themes of power, control, and downfall, wrapping historical influence in a modern, aggressive sonic assault. It’s the kind of track that feels just as comfortable blasting through headphones as it does shaking the walls of a packed venue.

Misery Index Sign to Season of Mist, Announce New Music and 2026 European/UK Tour - @thebeast
Misery Index Sign to Season of Mist, Announce New Music and 2026 European/UK Tour
Veteran death metal juggernauts Misery Index are officially back in the fold with Season of Mist, setting the stage for a new chapter that includes fresh material and a massive European and UK headline run in 2026.
For a quarter century, Misery Index have carved out their place as one of extreme metal’s most relentless forces, blending death metal and grindcore with razor-sharp social commentary. With ties to heavyweights like Dying Fetus and Pig Destroyer, the Baltimore-based outfit have built a reputation the hard way, through seven acclaimed albums, over 1,500 live shows, and performances across 46 countries alongside genre titans.
Now, the band are gearing up to unleash new music from their upcoming eighth full-length album, marking their return to the label that previously released The Killing Gods (2014) and Rituals of Power (2019).
Bassist and vocalist Jason Netherton shared his enthusiasm about the reunion:
“We in Misery Index are mega-chuffed to be back in the cozy, dark embrace of the Season of Mist family! The delicious smell of a classic independent label is both welcoming and intoxicating. Like the minstrels of yore, we wandered into the wilderness for a few years until we found our way back to where we belong.”
2026 European & UK Headline Tour
The band will hit the road next summer for their “An Epitaph for Endtimes” tour, including appearances at major festivals like Wacken Open Air and Summer Breeze.
Confirmed dates:
July 28 – Helsinki, Finland @ Kult
July 30 – Wacken, Germany @ Wacken Open Air
August 1 – Dortmund, Germany @ Dortmund Death Fest
August 2 – Saint Maurice de Gourdans, France @ Sylak Open Air
August 4 – Deinze, Belgium @ Elpee
August 5 – The Hague, Netherlands @ Musicon
August 6 – Schlotheim, Germany @ Party.San Open Air
August 8 – Swansea, UK @ Sin City
August 9 – Manchester, UK @ Rebellion
August 10 – Birmingham, UK @ Castle & Falcon
August 11 – Bridgwater, UK @ The Cobblestones
August 13 – Munich, Germany @ Backstage
August 14 – Dinkelsbühl, Germany @ Summer Breeze
August 15 – Sulingen, Germany @ Reload Festival
A Legacy of Relentless Evolution
Since forming in 2001 as a studio project, Misery Index have steadily evolved into a dominant force in extreme music. From their debut Retaliate on Nuclear Blast to their influential run with Relapse Records and later Century Media Records, the band have consistently delivered uncompromising records while expanding their global reach.
Critics have long praised their intensity and relevance:
Decibel called them “a behemoth”
Pitchfork highlighted their destructive precision
Metal Hammer noted their timely and politically charged approach
Metal Injection described their sound as “impressively heavy, expansive and loud”
Through lineup changes and shifting industry tides, the current roster of Jason Netherton (bass/vocals), Mark Kloeppel (guitar/vocals), Darin Morris (lead guitar), and Adam Jarvis (drums) has remained a rock-solid unit.
What’s Next
With new music on the horizon and a major tour locked in, Misery Index aren’t slowing down. If anything, they’re doubling down on everything that’s made them essential listening for decades.
No nostalgia act here. This is a band still in the fight, still writing, still touring, and still pushing back against the chaos of the world the only way they know how: loud, fast, and unapologetic.
