Long Island’s thrash horror unit Electrocutioner unleashes their blistering new single and official music video “Lightning Sacrifice” this Friday, August 8th . The track is the second single from their upcoming sophomore album Harbinger , due out Fall 2025 via CDN Records .
Inspired by ancient Incan rituals—where children were placed atop volcanoes to be struck by lightning in a divine act of sacrifice—“Lightning Sacrifice” channels terror, transcendence, and mythic reverence into a furious and cinematic thrash anthem. Now brought vividly to life with haunting visuals, the music video captures the track’s electrifying brutality and ritualistic weight.
“This song was inspired by the ancient belief that being struck by lightning would elevate a sacrificed child to the realm of the gods,” says guitarist/vocalist Mark Pursino . “We took that concept and transformed it into a thunderous thrash experience—raw power, pain, and sacred fire.”
With razor-edged riffs, horror-laced synths, and suffocating atmosphere, Electrocutioner channels the spirit of East Coast thrash legends like Slayer , Whiplash , and Exorcist , while forging their own modern, horror-fueled identity.
