Presented in an elegant Digipack format , the release marks the culmination of over five years of dedicated effort. The album’s lead single, "A Peaceful Surrender," offers a profound and emotionally gripping preview of the full release. Featuring guest vocals by Błażej Kasprzak (Batushka, Sturmovik), the track encapsulates the band’s signature blend of melancholy, heaviness, and haunting atmosphere.
Formed in 2018 by José Luis Vargas (guitar, vocals), George San Román (bass, vocals), and René Álvarez (guitar), later joined by Axel Fabricio (drums), Call ov the Void has emerged as a powerful force in the Mexican underground. Their 2019 EP Drowned laid the foundation, and now On Grief and Dying solidifies their artistic identity.
Produced with meticulous care, the album was recorded and mixed by Sam Becerra (Aetherevm) and mastered by Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity, Nightingale, Bloodbath), promising an immersive and professionally crafted sonic experience.
