Finnish Rockers SERPICO Declare War on Mediocrity with New Single - “ROCK N’ ROLL IS NOT DEAD”
Second single from upcoming album Dressed in Flesh , out September 12, 2025 via Golden Robot Records
Helsinki, Finland – The gritty, no-nonsense hard rock band SERPICO is back with their electrifying new single, “Rock N’ Roll Is Not Dead,” a defiant anthem that delivers a loud and clear message: authentic rock music is alive and kicking . The track is the second single from their upcoming album Dressed in Flesh , due out September 12, 2025 via Golden Robot Records . The single and its retro-styled music video are available now on all streaming platforms.
Fueled by the sweat, swagger, and sincerity that defined the golden era of hard rock, “Rock N’ Roll Is Not Dead” fuses classic influences like Motörhead , Ozzy Osbourne , and Guns N’ Roses into a high-octane statement piece that’s both nostalgic and forward-looking.
“This is our motto. We’ve been shouting ‘Rock N’ Roll Is Not Dead’ for over a decade on social media, and now it’s finally a song,” says vocalist Vee Dour .
“When Jani first brought in the lyrics, I was instantly inspired to start composing. I knew exactly what it needed—blood, sweat, pheromones, tons of attitude, and Serpico’s unique edge.”
The result is a full-throttle rocker soaked in authenticity, complete with gritty analog production courtesy of Anssi Kippo ( Children of Bodom ), recorded at the renowned Astia Studio in Lappeenranta, Finland.
“Uninspiring and flavorless are terms that cannot be used to describe this song,” says Kippo.
“It’s a delightfully positive track with massive street credibility. As Serpico preaches: ‘Let me tell you baby, rock n’ roll’s not dead!’”
Drummer Jani Serpico , who co-wrote the track, adds:
“This phrase has always been close to my heart. I started writing this song because I was sick of hearing the media say ‘rock is dead.’ That couldn’t be further from the truth. What’s missing today is the originality and authenticity that made rock ’n’ roll matter. That’s what we’re bringing back.”
Guitarist Snage contributed essential chord changes that gave the track even more power, and additional tweaks to the lyrics were made in the studio by Kippo and Dour to sharpen the final message.
The music video was conceived by cinematographer Eetu Salmela and Jani Serpico , and captures a raw, street-level energy that pays homage to vintage rock TV aesthetics and iconic '80s music videos.
“We studied old clips from the Finnish Jyrki TV show and took inspiration from videos by Michael Jackson, U2, Hall & Oates, and Van Halen,” says Salmela.
“The shoot was mostly improvised with just a few planned ideas. We wanted it to feel spontaneous, fun, and real—just like Serpico’s music. And I think that feeling really comes through.”
