Here they are again, the lords of Black Altar. Earlier I discussed a split album that the gentlemen released then with Kirkebrann. It was given the title Deus Inversus. The label, Odium Records from Poland, is also releasing the latest split of these gentlemen. This time the Norwegians of Vulture Lord, with members of Urgehal, Endezzma and Ulvehyrde, among others, were found willing to deliver four soul stirrings as well. Apparently one of the Vulture Lord songs still contains the vocals of Trondr Nefas. One of the founding members of Urgehal who sadly passed away in 2012.
We immediately step into the mud and filth with our shoes and start with the four songs of Black Altar. However, the very menacing, fear-inducing intro slips into the song of the most recent clip, Sacrilegious Congregation. And a rotting, gore walm takes hold of you, after all, it is Shadow's acidic vocal cords that still produce them. The gentlemen have not booked anything in filth and gortheid and when you hear the howling wolf, you know that you are again good for a small collection of black-and-white music. Nyx,the next full-fledged song, is not inferior to its predecessor. Wonderfully filthy how here the vocals are interwoven between the music. The clattering bass also deserves its place here.
Vulture Lord taps, also four songs, from a slightly different black metal vase. However, this brew is also very drinkable. Sour and far after expiration date so sounds the black metal of this Vulture Lord. Little or no empathy, compassion or some form of compassion. Cutting, razor-sharp solos whistle around your ears to start in Dominios Of Death. The whole thing gets a thrashy feeling. Also, Rak! The Hymns Of Death of Bloodstained Ritualknives are songs with an obvious thrash foundation about which comes a gortige black metal dressing. However, the speed of execution of this last song is quite high.
Delicious, sickening split of two gortige black metal bands that seem to have found each other. More of that! It should also be mentioned that the intros and additional samples are by Ludo Lejeune. - Zware Metalen
