Co-written by husband and wife team Andrew and Stephanie Hooker, ‘Loud’ exemplifies their musical chemistry.
Recorded on the outskirts of Nashville, TN, The Cave Studios, Leipers Fork, TN. Produced by Patrick Thrasher (Rush, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers).
TU are a trio, featuring AH (guitars/lead vocals), Michael Meadows (bass/BG vocals) and Simona Bressi (drums).
Loud – An unusually alternative punk intro, with blues leanings. Instantly rhythmic, with melancholy tinged vocals. It’s bouncy, with light breaking through the downbeat emphasis, lifting more, as the track progresses. Good consistent beat, decent melody, gradually gaining energy. Fairly short, but long enough to get a feel for the fun underpinning the nostalgia. It’s certainly atmospheric, especially in a visual sense. Slight echo style. That bluesy refrain gets stronger, throughout. A well performed and produced, if acquired sound. Ending with a little more groove. Video a tad underwhelming, but some great thunder and lightning sequences. - Jenny Tate
