FYI: Fatal Sin – Episodes: The Complete Recordings - Reviewed By Metal Temple ! Check it out here at this link: http://www.metal-temple.com/site/catalogues/entry/reviews/cd_3/f_2/fatal-sin-episodes.htm
FATAL SIN was a Trash Metal band from Boca Raton, Florida. They formed in 1985, went through multiple lineup changes, then solidified their membership by 1989 when they recorded their self-titled demo. The band unfortunately would go on hiatus in 1993 and later disband in 1997. On October 13, 2020, their recordings were collected and re-issued as “Episodes: The Complete Recordings.” The album comes with an eight-page booklet featuring archival photos and personal insights from Adam Riewold. Also included is a bonus DVD featuring their entire performance at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida in 1990.
The album itself comprises six tracks, three studio and three live, spanning about 28 minutes. While albums of this nature appeal mostly to collectors and metal historians, I do have to say many of these tracks absolutely stand on their own. The best tracks, of course, are the studio recordings. The three tracks veer to the Prog side of the spectrum, laying out complicated arrangements across a vast array of tempos.
Thematically, the band focuses on traditional Thrash lyrics protesting environmental and socio-political distress . . . all of which actually seem prophetic coming from thirty years ago and landing in 2020. As a vocalist, Adam Riewold is neither a guttural baritone nor a clean-throated virtuoso, but he does have that fanatical intonation that you expect from Thrash bands. The guitar work of Haven Eaton is impressive in its complexity and ferocity, but my favorite performance by far is Adam Riewold on bass, especially on “Episode.”
The live tracks are interesting but don’t bear repeating except maybe from an historical perspective. Given the raw quality of the audio (apparently, they were having PA issues on the day), I’m thinking the DVD is much more entertaining with the added visual layer. On other fronts, the album artwork is very 80’s Thrash, so fun in a retro-type of way.
Altogether, FATAL SIN’s “Episodes: The Complete Recordings” brings to light the combined talents of a band that is sorely missed. And while we can sit around and ponder what might have been, we might be better off just cranking it to 11 and soaking it in.

FOR FANS OF: Atheist, (early) Megadeth, (early) Cynic
FATAL SIN were formed in late 1985 in Boca Raton, Florida by guitarist Adam Riewold and drummer Greg Threlkel (who were in middle school at the time) out of a love for both the energized Thrash of bands such as Slayer and Megadeth as well as the more intricate arrangements of Rush. After going through a revolving door of musicians, the line-up solidified with the addition of guitarist Haven Eaton and bassist Kevin Bachaus.
Fast forward, FATAL SIN would take home the top prize at a local Battle of the Bands, winning 4 hours of free studio time. With their winnings the band would enter Hollywood Sync Studios in November of 1989 to record their first demo. Friend, and bassist for local heavyweight's Saigon Kick Tom DeFile, produced. Armed with a quality recording, FATAL SIN would begin to gig heavily, sharing the stage with bands such as Vio-Lence, Devastation, Deicide, Morbid Angel, Raped Ape, Cynic, and Pantera.
Not long after the recording of the 1989 Demo and that momentum began, Kevin would be diagnosed with spinal cancer and would have to exit the band. Adam would switch from guitar to bass, making FATAL SIN a three piece. It would be during this period that the band would begin to be influenced by not only bands such
as Watchtower and Voi-Vod , but also by the complex sounds and arrangements of classic Jazz/Fusion artists such as Return To Forever and Mahavishnu Orchestra . These influences are highly evident on their final studio recording, "Episode", which was recorded in 1991 for a local compilation album " Unsigned III: Killing Time ".
Shortly after the recording of “Episode”, FATAL SIN would go on hiatus for close to a year before reemerging as UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE. The band would issue one final 3-song selftitled demo in 1993 and disband in 1997.
Greg Threlkel would go on to co-found the band BURNER in 1998 along with guitarists John Paul Soars ( Raped Ape/Paingod/Malevolent Creation/Divine Empire ) and Jason Morgan ( Monstrosity ), who would record one album for Arctic Music Group in 1992 titled “One For The Road”. Adam Riewold moved to Tampa, Florida and has been involved in multiple projects, with his most recent being the band LEVEL THE PLANET.
This deluxe re-issue features all of the bands studio recordings, as well as 3 live songs, fully remastered from the original sources by Rob Colwell at Bombworks Sound and an 8-page booklet featuring archival photos and some personal insights from Adam Riewold. Also included is a bonus DVD featuring their entire performance at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida in 1990.
This deluxe edition is the 5th release in our "Florida Metal Archive Series" and is limited to 300 units world wide.

Follow Me Dark - Self Titled Debut - Featured At Bathory'Zine ! Check it out here at this link: https://www.bathoryzine.com/2021/01/follow-me-dark-self-titled-debut-alt.html?spref=fb&fbclid=IwAR2cgDQ6DecFy_2Tcd032jU8atzhyzHQE7_prG_Ng5-tso9cBAplgwEeWMU
December 9, 2020 - Alt Rock/Metal band Follow Me Dark ends 2020 on a high note with the release of their self-titled odyssey “Follow Me Dark”. Slated to go LIVE on the winter solstice, the 12/21 release is an impeccable testament to their dedication and perseverance. COVID truly changed everything for musicians, putting them in an introspective position to create art during a time when nobody is playing shows. In light of this, Follow Me Dark chose to focus on finishing their album right in time for the changing of seasons. In the spirit of challenging comfort zones, their full length album is meant to welcome people into listening to something outside of their realm of comfort. Instrumentally, the band taps into multiple genres in an attempt to convey a mood through music to reflect the dimensions that are inside of all of us. Their intricate textural interludes and melodic choruses captivate fans of alt rock, metal, psychedelic rock, indie rock and even rock opera. The modern psychedelic grooves and metal attacks tap into fans of Muse, Alice in Chains and Deftones.
Follow Me Dark’s emotional new album isn’t afraid to confront human nature in a very raw and transparent way. Consisting of Stephen Kozak (vocals/guitar), Sean Batinic (guitar), Elliot Grove (bass) and Jim Boots (drums), the band reveals a chemistry between bandmates that assists in amplifying their message in a relatable yet ‘larger than life’ way. Hailing from Grass Valley, CA, the band has successfully introduced their grassroots following to a progressive approach to songwriting. And in “Follow Me Dark”, the band embraces very organic musical peaks and valleys, offering a refreshing complexity to the alt rock/metal genre. “Too much music nowadays is predictable, it’s unexciting. It’s not surprising. That’s something we pride ourselves in; we try to make music that pushes you into “I didn’t see this coming. I’m off my rocker. I can’t categorize this” says vocalist/guitarist Stephen Kozak.
Follow Me Dark by Follow Me Dark
Full length albums are often hard to come by in our singles-laden world. But “Follow Me Dark” has a unique way of provoking you to commit to listening from beginning to end. The “Follow Me Dark” project embraces the darker parts in all of us that we aren’t always consciously aware of. With the release of their self-titled project, they hope to create an outlet for people who might be confronting some of the same feelings that they do; those feelings of dread, confusion, chaos and anger. In the words of drummer Jim Boots, “There’s a dark, shadowy feeling to the music that’s kind of what the world is going through right now.” And after such a turbulent year, it’s important not to ignore those feelings but to welcome them knowing that many are experiencing the exact same thing. While the light and positive emotions bring us together, so do the dark ones. Our imperfections make us relatable to one another and after a culmination of two years of intense creativity, Follow Me Dark hopes to provide their fans with cathartic & spiritual experience to wrap up a year that is sure to go down in history books.

Pressure - Julstress - Reviewed By Local Smokeout! - @thebeast
FYI: Pressure - Julstress - Reviewed By Local Smokeout ! Check out the video review below!
“In their own melodic way, Pressure takes the unique Scandinavian metal sound to become a ferocious breath of fresh air in the modern metal scene” – The Other Side
Press Release
Band: Pressure
Track: ‘Julstress’ - ISRC – QZNWV2077637
Release Date: 11th December 2020
Written and composed by Simon Forsell, Olof Jönsson, Emil Salling
Copyright: Pressure 2020
‘Julstress’
HO! HO! HO! IT’S CHRISTMAS and Swedish rockers Pressure have penned their first Christmas song! ‘Julstress’ sees its release 11th December, 2020 and this is one Christmas song that will stand out from the crowd!
From the opening riff you’ll be rocking out for the full 2.35 and you’ll never think of ‘Jingle Bells’ in the same way every again! The track may well be delivered with driving guitar riffs and a sometimes growling bass vocal but it still manages to touch on the sensitive issue of how some people struggle with the pressure of the festivities.
The guys wrote the track as a distraction whilst getting their heads down writing new material that will see the light of day in 2021. There will be a full video supporting the release.
The Band
Who are Pressure I hear you ask? Well if you had to tag them with a genre the one that fits best is a ‘melodic rock’ but they’re so much more than that. Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden and with vocalist Olof Jönsson you can always guarantee soaring, athletic and committed vocals. Together with a twin guitar sound coming from songwriter and lead guitarist Simon “Siirpo” Forsell and Emil Salling. Their work often focuses and embraces the pressures felt from everyday existence. Their lyrics ably demonstrating that there are two sides to every story - the good and the bad. Every song has a double meaning and they truly see music as a tool to handle the different pressures thrown at us from the modern world.
The band began their journey together in 2018, and since then they’ve worked tirelessly developing their sound and live performance, their aim? To make memories with their fans and to an epic musical soundtrack.
A quote that can summarize their lyrics is: “How can you tell a story about life if you haven’t dared to live life to its fullest!
Pressure is all about every story, every moment, every Pressure!
Julstress - Lyrics
INTRO
A star shining with a marvelous light
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Yeah! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
VERSE
You’re running around, Christmas should be white
We need to buy our Christmas gifts
There’s shouting and lots of work, almost like a rite
Don’t forget to light the candles, wrap the gifts, do the rhyme
and don’t forget the cards
Dress the tree and your children too
Soon the guests will arrive but there’s millions of things left
For everyone except me
BRIDGE
To be alone at Christmas
Can never be fun, right? (no, no, no, no)
CHORUS
Christmas is here, but I'm taking it easy, I sit down and take a deep breath
No stress, just relax Christmas is best when I´m alone
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Yeah! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
VERSE
Christmas can be chaos, everyone is here now
Put the gifts under the Christmas tree,
Where is Santa and the porridge? Who found the almond?
The drinks glitter in the bar
Ham, turkey, gravy and a little more
The children are screaming and playing
Do you want to sit down? No the party needs more
You just smile but can never relax
To be alone when it's Christmas
Can be really nice, right? (yes, yes, yes, yes)
CHORUS
Christmas is here, but I'm taking it easy, I sit down, take a deep breath
No stress, no agitation
Christmas is best when I´m alone
INTERLUDE
The cold of the midwinter night is severe, the stars sparkle and twinkle,
Everyone is sleeping in the Christmas calm deep below the midnight sky,
The moon travels its silent path, the snow shines white on pine and oak,
the snow glows white on the rooftops.
Only Santa is awake
What!? is Santa naked?

Singer Anna Kłos and the four gentlemen who accompany her move quickly and do well, since they have the appropriate mood. As they formed their band only in '19 and after an EP, they present their first album and are aimed at those who are still inspired by the heavy of the early years of the '80s. In their homeland of Poland, things may not have been very prosperous for the metal scene at the time, but now these musicians can represent that old furious style quite convincingly. With their eight songs they do not procrastinate, they have the proper sound, they apply the appropriate forms in the composition. It would be a legitimate development, however, not just to verify their influences, but to make their own proposals, to enhance their image with a better production. Lively, as befits the idiom, it is worth checking them out. - Flight Of Pegasus
Shadow Warrior is the classic heavy metal attack in the vein of early Accept, Iron Maiden, Saxon and Warlock. The band was formed in 2019 and made their recording debut with 5-song EP “Return of the Shadow Warrior”, which lyrics were based directly on history and culture of Japan. The album, initially self-released by the band in limited 100 copies, turned out to be a hit and in 2 weeks span it was totally sold out. Soon afterwards the band started to gain attention of classic heavy metal record labels from all over the world – this yielded in reissue of their EP for Asian, South American and European markets, released by Spiritual Beast, Burning Leather and Heathen Tribes respectively on CD, vinyl and MC.
By early 2020 Shadow Warrior made contact with Japanese heavy metal legend, Metalucifer, which resulted in 7” vinyl single “Heavy Metal Typhoon”, which featured Metalucifer/Sabbat lead singer Gezolucifer on vocals and iconic metal collector, Neal Tanaka, on the album cover.
By mid-2020 the band finished recording of their full-length debut album, “Cyberblade”. The album, featuring 35 minutes of premiere material encapsuled in 8 songs, was recorded and mixed in HiGain Studio (Białystok, Poland) by Janusz Grabowski and Marcin Grygoruk. The album will be released on 18 th November 2020 by Spiritual Beast (CD) for Japanese market and by Ossuary Records (CD/MC/digital) for everywhere else. The album was preceded by the 7” vinyl single “I Am the Thunder”.
