VERWILDERD - "Homo Homini Lupus Est" - Reviewed By Full Metal Mayhem ! Check it out here at this link: https://lorenzvangore.wixsite.com/fullmetalmayhem/post/verwilderd-mit-homo-homini-lupus-est How did I get to know the band: This is again the fault of the Metal Devastation Radio, but I'm happy, otherwise I would probably never have joined the band.  How do I like the record: Not bad so far, but let's listen to it together:  NO LIFE FOR THE WEAK starts off really powerful and reminds a bit of Behemoth. Stomping nicely and with a lot of hate in the voice, we get the song knocked over the ears. The vocals oscillate between really nasty growls and high-pitched Black Metal screams. Hopefully it will continue like this. WOLVES AND THORNES follows on from its predecessor, the track is nice and stomping and groovy, although there are raging parts every now and then. So the quality is definitely maintained. EYES SEWN DOWN starts with a single guitar. This is soon joined by the bass and drums, before the song sets off with all its might. Really heavy and dark, with a lot of aggression in it. My favorite on the EP. TASTE THE SOIL somehow doesn't get to the point. The intro is way too long for me, maybe they wanted to create a melancholy mood at the beginning, but unfortunately that didn't work. The song only really starts after almost three and a half minutes, one would think, but then everything slows down again. It takes more than four minutes for proper parts to come, but by then I've been too excited about the skipped intro. If the track were cut in half the time it would be much better. At the end of the EP, HOLLOWED SOULS shows how to do it better. A melancholic intro followed by heavy and nasty Metal, if you intend this contrast. At least something good at the end. Conclusion: A very decent EP, it will be interesting to see what will come next. More for the deathheads out there. Except for the fourth song, I really enjoy the record, so check it out - Full Metal Mayhem Belgium's finest black metal scene breeds anew; VERWILDERD The heavy hitting debut "Homo Homini Lupus Est" from Belgium's Verwilderd has arrived!
