In 1994, four friends got together and decided they wanted to entertain the world. They decided to name their band ' State Of Mind' ( SOM ) because that is what music is to them, a State of Mind . Their influences are old school metal gods such as, Ronnie James Dio , Judas Priest , Black Sabbath , Queensryche , Iron Maiden , Pantera , Led Zeppelin etc.
The music is hard hitting and described as New Classic Metal . With the flavor of their influences guiding their way. The lyrics are written to describe ones State of Mind in any given situation, and to give those feelings an outlet other than addiction or suicide. They have lost two band members to addiction that resulted in death. RIP Scott and Brett.
They put out their first studio recording in 1995. A six song, self titled cassette recorded on the only ADAT machine in their area at that time. The latest CD was released in 2019 along with a music video released in Dec 2019. They are now composing new music for their second CD which will be titled “ Shattered ”, and working on another music video.

BOOZEWA reveal video for "Deb" - @thebeast
Boozewa (Featuring members of Backwoods Payback) have unleashed a video for their song "Deb". The track is taken from their upcoming EP of the same name which will be released tomorrow. The EP was mastered by Tad Doyle of the legendary band TAD at Witch Ape Studio in Seattle Washington.
The band commented "By the end of 2020 we had written roughly 20 songs and with ‘Deb’ I think we really started to settle into what I guess you could say is our ‘sound.’ It’s off, it’s catchy, it’s heavy, it’s Boozewa. We recorded the tune on the four-track cassette machine again, and this time sent it off to Tad Doyle (Tad/Witch Ape Studio) for mastering. If there’s a light in the dark year that was 2020 it was definitely getting to work with someone I’ve been a giant fan of for the better part of the last 20 years, that being Tad!”
Watch: https://v13.net/2021/08/boozewa-will-pulverize-you-with-their-deb-music-video-premiere/
Pre-order "Deb": https://boozewa.bandcamp.com/album/deb
The EP follows the debut demo ‘First Contact’ which released in February of 2021 and sold out on tape in a month, spawning two more limited pressings of it. Bringing a distinctive sound, Boozewa draws passionately from the heaviest of the heavy through to the mellowest of the mellow. Emphasised by their unusual recording method, the vintage touch produces a unique tone with a dynamic, atmospheric quality. Dark, gloomy sounds are encountered in the opening track ‘Deb’ with heavily distorted guitars creating an aptly ambient level of noise. Combined with a slow tempo and soaring vocal harmonies it’s a startling contradiction. The B-side ‘Now Stop’ delves brings rhythmic, traditional heavy metal inspired instrumentation and edgier vocals.
For a project formed in the summer of 2020 by three musicians stuck locked down, in a house, with nothing else to do, Boozewa is an agent of creativity and innovation from composition to production. Versatile and progressive, ‘Deb’ is an experience for the senses that is not to be missed.
Line-Up

- Rylan Caspar / guitar, hollering
- Mike Cummings (mRc) / drums, hollering

QRIXKUOR's "Poison Palinopsia" Now Streaming - @thebeast
Death metal trio QRIXKUOR have joined forces with Decibel Magazine for the exclusive premiere of Poison Palinopsia. The band's full-length debut album, Poison Palinopsia is a 48 minute, two-part labyrinthine descent into the demented depths of the divine.
Stream Poison Palinopsia now at this location .
Poison Palinopsia is set to be released on digital, CD and vinyl formats in conspiracy with Invictus Productions in Europe and Dark Descent Records in the United States on August 13. Pre-order the album at darkdescentrecords.bandcamp.com/album/poison-palinopsia.
Following 2016’s enigmatic Three Devils Dance MLP, Poison Palinopsia is a sordid wound in reality’s distorted veil that spent five restless years aching for a blade to grant it life.
Recorded, mixed and mastered by Greg Chandler at Priory Recording Studios in Birmingham, England and with cover art contributed once again by the inimitable Daniel Corcuera, the album is a furious and fanatically channeled tempest of feral energy, synonymous in its nightmarish aural attack that seeks to chisel avenues to black inner worlds - a truly fitting soundscape for man’s current state of despondent dissonance.
Track listing:
1. Serpentine Susurrus - Mother's Abomination (24:11)
2. Recrudescent Malevolence - Mother's Illumination (24:31)
QRIXKUOR was born of flame and baptized in blood on English soil at the conclusion of 2011. Beginning with 2014’s Consecration of the Temple demo tape, QRIXKUOR paint deranged soundscapes that exist outside the circles of time – the crepitating cacophony of the world’s dying embers.
Joined in darkness by Invictus Productions, 2016 spawned the Three Devils Dance MLP – crawling desolate labyrinths at the threshold of insanity, this release resulted in increased live activity, culminating in a tour across the West Cost of North America with Blood Incantation in the summer of 2017.
Recrudescent and relentless, in 2021 QRIXKUOR is an international, inter-dimensional entity preparing to release their debut full-length album in conspiracy with Invictus Productions & Dark Descent Records, Poison Palinopsia , giving voice to abhorrent visions torn from beyond reality’s distorted veils - a mass for tortured souls. Be consumed and burn brighter…

DIVINE ANGER - Ghost Dust - Reviewed By ODYMETAL! - @thebeast
DIVINE ANGER - Ghost Dust - Reviewed By ODYMETAL ! Check it out here at this link: https://odymetal.blogspot.com/2021/08/divine-anger-guru-of-hate.html
DIVINE ANGER is an international band founded in 2015 by Barry Ross (bass) and Luke Kräner (guitar), coming to fruition in 2018 and their first EP entitled "Guru Of Hate" is released in a Metal Power register.
The massive moderate tempo "Guru Of Hate" opens the ball in an atmosphere, a heaviness and jerky guitar riffs very inspired FEAR FACTORY even vocally where we will discern some notes of heavier guitars.
We take rhythm with "Behind The Wall" on which we will be treated to a rough thrash song but also a clear song with some tones reminiscent of Kai Hansen. These songs will be alternating and duet at the level of the choruses, which will combine power and melodies on a music where we will feel an influence to the ICED EARTH and IRON MAIDEN. The title ends with a sharp solo.
"Always Now" presents a soft intro while growing in power by having an alternative metal inspiration followed by a rough heavy metal that will take speed. The singer demonstrates a variety of possibilities, powerful and exploring high-pitched tones without difficulty. The solo is well worked, incisive, metal with a drum that hits hard.
A thrashizing side will settle on "D-Day", with the right intro, which will alternate the tonic and moderate tempos interspersed with a large break posed a little long that breaks a little the dynamics of the title, the whole with a song very close to the characteristics of "Behind the Wall". The sung parts are intense.
Rather moderate and classic in the genre with a soft and melodious intro, with a music box feel, "When Angels Sleep" with acoustic guitar, will finish more rhythmic with beautiful vocal parts.
An EP of Metal Power not unpleasant but which, with its variety of directions, will arouse two types of reaction. Either we think that the group has a lot of ideas and that this gives a particular aspect to the whole, or we think that the group is looking for itself, starting in different directions. You only have one thing to do, listen to these five tracks and make your own opinion. The further evolution of the group will undoubtedly provide us with answers.

Release Date: August 6, 2021
FFO: Metallica, Helloween, Iced Earth

Believe it or not, Divine Anger is a metal band from another dimension. How and why this shift happened is still a riddle to all! One moment, they were playing the biggest gig of their life in Wacken – on their side. Next, they woke up here, in a reality that is home to you but alien to them. Now, the six musicians are on a journey to return home, and their first wish is to play their way into the ears and hearts of metalheads, with their expressive power metal – a style that ranges from melodic to aggressive but is always catchy as hell! Everyone has heroes, and Divine Anger’s strongest influences are metal bands like Iced Earth, Helloween, Angel Dust, and Nocturnal Rites. At the same time, all band members enjoy the impact of more aggressive metal genres. So, you will mainly hear clean vocals in their songs, but you will also often hear screams, growls, or blends from these different vocal styles, inspired by subgenres like melodic death metal or alternative metal rather than specific bands.
Divine Anger was founded in 2015 by Barry Ross (bass) and Luke Krämer (guitars). The two school friends pushed their project passionately and formed a professional metal band in 2018. With Misaki Hayashi (synthesizers), J.J. (guitars), Damon (drums), and ART3M (vocals), Barry and Luke found irreplaceable comrades-in-arms, and today, they together form the permanent line-up of Divine Anger. The band members come from different countries and are thus an international group. As in their founding year, their life and creative activity are centered in Hamburg (Germany). Although currently completely unknown in the metal scene, Divine Anger has already built up a reputation as a serious newcomer band in their dimension. Indeed, they were just one step away from signing their first record deal, which was to happen right after their gig in Wacken. But then, things changed. On December 1, 2020 Divine Anger released their first single Behind the Wall in our dimension. A second single (Always Now) followed on February 20, 2021, and the third one (Guru of Hate) on May 7, 2021. On August 6, 2021 the band's debut EP will be unleashed on our ears. Find out more about this unusual band and it’s out-of-this-world band members here: divine-anger.com.
