DIVINE ANGER - Ghost Dust - Reviewed By ODYMETAL! - @thebeast

DIVINE ANGER - Ghost Dust - Reviewed By ODYMETAL ! Check it out here at this link: https://odymetal.blogspot.com/2021/08/divine-anger-guru-of-hate.html DIVINE ANGER is an international band founded in 2015 by Barry Ross (bass) and Luke Kräner (guitar), coming to fruition in 2018 and their first EP entitled "Guru Of Hate" is released in a Metal Power register. The massive moderate tempo "Guru Of Hate" opens the ball in an atmosphere, a heaviness and jerky guitar riffs very inspired FEAR FACTORY even vocally where we will discern some notes of heavier guitars. We take rhythm with "Behind The Wall" on which we will be treated to a rough thrash song but also a clear song with some tones reminiscent of Kai Hansen. These songs will be alternating and duet at the level of the choruses, which will combine power and melodies on a music where we will feel an influence to the ICED EARTH and IRON MAIDEN. The title ends with a sharp solo. "Always Now" presents a soft intro while growing in power by having an alternative metal inspiration followed by a rough heavy metal that will take speed. The singer demonstrates a variety of possibilities, powerful and exploring high-pitched tones without difficulty. The solo is well worked, incisive, metal with a drum that hits hard. A thrashizing side will settle on "D-Day", with the right intro, which will alternate the tonic and moderate tempos interspersed with a large break posed a little long that breaks a little the dynamics of the title, the whole with a song very close to the characteristics of "Behind the Wall". The sung parts are intense. Rather moderate and classic in the genre with a soft and melodious intro, with a music box feel, "When Angels Sleep" with acoustic guitar, will finish more rhythmic with beautiful vocal parts. An EP of Metal Power not unpleasant but which, with its variety of directions, will arouse two types of reaction. Either we think that the group has a lot of ideas and that this gives a particular aspect to the whole, or we think that the group is looking for itself, starting in different directions. You only have one thing to do, listen to these five tracks and make your own opinion. The further evolution of the group will undoubtedly provide us with answers. MONKEYMETAL aka Troll / ODYMETAL / the 05.08.2021. - ODYMETAL Release Date: August 6, 2021 FFO: Metallica, Helloween, Iced Earth Pre-Save link: https://show.co/VkzyvKJ Believe it or not, Divine Anger is a metal band from another dimension. How and why this shift happened is still a riddle to all! One moment, they were playing the biggest gig of their life in Wacken – on their side. Next, they woke up here, in a reality that is home to you but alien to them. Now, the six musicians are on a journey to return home, and their first wish is to play their way into the ears and hearts of metalheads, with their expressive power metal – a style that ranges from melodic to aggressive but is always catchy as hell! Everyone has heroes, and Divine Anger’s strongest influences are metal bands like Iced Earth, Helloween, Angel Dust, and Nocturnal Rites. At the same time, all band members enjoy the impact of more aggressive metal genres. So, you will mainly hear clean vocals in their songs, but you will also often hear screams, growls, or blends from these different vocal styles, inspired by subgenres like melodic death metal or alternative metal rather than specific bands.  Divine Anger was founded in 2015 by Barry Ross (bass) and Luke Krämer (guitars). The two school friends pushed their project passionately and formed a professional metal band in 2018. With Misaki Hayashi (synthesizers), J.J. (guitars), Damon (drums), and ART3M (vocals), Barry and Luke found irreplaceable comrades-in-arms, and today, they together form the permanent line-up of Divine Anger. The band members come from different countries and are thus an international group. As in their founding year, their life and creative activity are centered in Hamburg (Germany). Although currently completely unknown in the metal scene, Divine Anger has already built up a reputation as a serious newcomer band in their dimension. Indeed, they were just one step away from signing their first record deal, which was to happen right after their gig in Wacken. But then, things changed. On December 1, 2020 Divine Anger released their first single Behind the Wall in our dimension. A second single (Always Now) followed on February 20, 2021, and the third one (Guru of Hate) on May 7, 2021. On August 6, 2021 the band's debut EP will be unleashed on our ears. ICYMI: IRON BONEHEAD PRODUCTIONS is proud to present a special EP from KATAVASIA, Invoking the Spirit of Doom, on 7" vinyl format. KATAVASIA is a Greek black metal band formed in 2014 by members of well-known Greek metal acts such as Varathron, Hail Spirit Noir, Aenaon, Melan Selas, and Agnes Vein. The goal of the alliance was to compose and perform Greek black metal at its finest. In 2015, KATAVASIA released their debut album, Sacrilegious Testament, which was highly praised by both media and fans for its dedication to the original Greek BM sound but at the same time offering originality. A 7" EP titled Daemonic Offering followed in 2017 to prove, once again, the band's aptitude and hunger for more devilish riffs and engrossing atmosphere. Their long-awaited second album, Magnus Venator, followed in 2020, proving that KATAVASIA's sound is as enduring and eternal as ever And they prove that yet again with a quick-hitting EP under the banner of longtime fans IRON BONEHEAD. Aptly titled Invoking the Spirit of Doom, KATAVASIA's new two-song offering presents the band's majestic-yet-malevolent sound in its rawest form yet, but rich and robust like never before. Like a time-warp to the early '90s but imbued with the wisdom of the ages, these two tracks are quintessential Hellenic black metal given a demonic twist...straight into the abyss, where it all began! Age Of Ore - The Call - Featured At Planet Mosh Spotify! - @thebeast

Age Of Ore - The Call - Featured At Planet Mosh Spotify ! Check it out here at this link: https://planetmosh.com/planetmosh-spotify-playlist-july-2021-new-releases/ Released July 23, 2021 The Age Of Ore just released a new track called ' The Call '. Thematically its a bit darker than previous songs, and is about a person who struggles with an addiction that brings them to the brink of death over and over again, and no matter what they do, they continue down this road until it takes their life. The song starts off subtly, but soon comes in incredibly heavily, and switches between soft and heavy throughout the song, which exemplifies some of the thematic elements the song is about. The song has fast, chugging guitar riffs, melodic acoustic parts, a very heavy bass line, and powerful, in-your-face drumming. Germany's NOCTURNAL premiere new track at NoCleanSinging.com - @thebeast

Today, German thrash institution  Nocturnal  premiere the new track   "Void Dweller"   at heavily trafficked web-portal   NoCleanSinging.com . The track is   the third to be revealed   from the band's long-awaited fourth album,   Serpent Death , set for international release on August 27th via  Dying Victims Productions . H ear  Nocturnal 's "Void Dweller" in its entirety exclusively  HERE . A veritable institution,   Nocturnal  have been flying the flag of hate and inciting a riot of violence since the year 2000. Helmed by founding guitarist Avenger (whose other credits are far too vast to list here),   Nocturnal  set about their prolific course with a flurry of demo tapes and splits with the likes of Nunslaughter, Vomitor, Bestial Mockery, and Toxic Holocaust among others, all culminating in their momentous   Arrival of the Carnivore   debut album in 2005. Back then, hailing the old Teutonic gods of thrash – namely the “Big Three” of Sodom, Kreator, and Destruction, but not withstanding Deathrow, Assassin, Exumer, Darkness, Violent Force, and Necronomicon as well as Razor and early Sepultura abroad  – was rather unfashionable, but it was   Nocturnal  who had the last laugh, as the second worldwide thrash resurgence was about to begin, and there they stood, undaunted and defiant. Thereafter,   Nocturnal  continued to honor the old underground ways with another flurry splits and vinyl EPs, before second LP   Violent Revenge   arrived in 2009. Thus far,   Nocturnal ’s albums were more finely honed and better-produced expressions of those prolific UG releases, and they kept apace with that schematic through the release of their third LP,   Storming Evil , in 2014. By then, lineup troubles had begun to plague the band and slow their momentum, and thereafter was all quiet on the Western front. But at long last, the ultimate revenge arrives with   Serpent Death ! As aptly titled as any   Nocturnal  full-length so far,   Serpent Death   slithers and strikes with a venomous menace. Arguably the band’s best-produced as well as best-played record to date,   Serpent Death   loses not an ounce of power and poignancy; if anything,   Nocturnal  sound more energetic than ever, revitalized and ripping and defying their seemingly advanced age. Whereas the preceding   Storming Evil   perhaps leaned too much on the cleaner side of things,   Serpent Death   is robustly analog, flexing both muscle and clarity, all while remaining steadfastly analog. Further, there’s more (but subtle) twists in the songwriting and dynamics, evincing an ageless metal wisdom whilst not sacrificing any urgency in the process. Avenger, as always, is an absolute riff-machine, firing off memorable lines right and left, but he’s more-than-ably backed up by a blood-red-vital rhythm section in bassist Incinerator and drummer John Berry. New vocalist Invoker has a rougher and more hollering voice, perfectly suited for these classic metal-inclined tunes. So, less “sharp” pure thrash and more “warmer” traditional metal: it’s a trade-off that pays in spades on   Serpent Death . Timeless, eternal, both behind the times and ahead of ‘em – there’s few bands with a body of work quite like   Nocturnal . Even if it’s another five-plus years between albums,   Serpent Death   handily satisfies with a sound that’s so old, it’s new! Also see (and hear) the previously revealed video for "Bleeding Heaven" exclusively  HERE , courtesy of  Rock Hard  magazine, as well as the previously revealed  "Damnator's Hand" exclusively  HERE , courtesy of  Deaf Forever  magazine.  Cover and tracklisting are as follows: Tracklisting for Nocturnal (Germany)'s Serpent Death 1. Jim Matheos' Tuesday The Sky launches video for new single, "The Blurred Horizon" - @thebeast

On September 3rd,   Tuesday The Sky   will release their new album,   The Blurred Horizon , via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of the record, a new video for the title track can be viewed at:   The previously released single, "Hypneurotic", can be heard at:   metalblade.com/tuesdaythesky , where   The Blurred Horizon   can also be pre-ordered in the following formats: - digipak-CD - 180g black vinyl (EU exclusive) - orange / red marbled vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 300 copies) - orange w/ black dust vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 200 copies) - turquoise marbled vinyl (US exclusive) - clear w/ green & white splatter vinyl (US exclusive) Tuesday The Sky 's origins could almost be considered accidental. Guitarist Jim Matheos, famed for his work with progressive metal giants  Fates Warning  alongside projects such as  OSI  and his collaboration with John Arch,  Arch/Matheos , penned a few songs that did not fit in with any of his established outlets, and intrigued by this, decided to write more and see where this took him. The result was 2017's  Drift , a record that drew influence from the likes of  Brian Eno, Sigur Ros, Boards Of Canada  and  Explosions In The Sky , and now he returns with its successor,  The Blurred Horizon . A mixture of ambient, electronica, post-rock and more,  The Blurred Horizon  is perhaps best described as a  beautiful  record, having a natural grace to it. While predominantly the work of Matheos, he is not the sole performer on the record, enlisting the help of other musicians where necessary.  "It's primarily a solo project, but with the idea of having different guests on each record to help fill it out and, hopefully, give each one a slightly different sound. With the first record, there was   Anna Lynne Williams   on vocals for a couple of songs, and Lloyd Hanney of   God Is An Astronaut   on drums. For this one, the live drums on five tracks were handled by Gavin Harrison of   The Pineapple Thief, King Crimson , and   Porcupine Tree . He's my absolute favorite drummer, so he was the first person I thought of when I decided that some of the songs could benefit from real drums. I originally was thinking of just one or two songs, but once I heard how good he made them sound, I kept asking him do more, which, thankfully, he agreed to. His playing added a whole new dimension to the songs, particularly on 'Hypneurotic', where he plays two different full drum kit takes, panned left and right, to achieve a kind of 'double drummer' effect." "Everything Is Free" - the closing track and only one on the record to include vocals - is a cover of a  Gillian Welch  and  David Rawlings  song from 2001.  " Fates Warning   were thinking about doing some cover tunes as bonus tracks for   'Long Day Good Night'   (2020), and when that didn't happen, I kept this one in mind for a future project. It seemed to fit nicely here, even though it's an otherwise instrumental album, and the vocals are by Tim Bowness. Like Gavin, Tim is someone I've worked with in the past, with   OSI   and several other projects. He's got a beautiful voice and his gentle delivery is just what I wanted for this one." The Blurred Horizon   track-listing 1. Half Remembered 2. Near Light 3. Cwmwl 4. Where the Enemy Sleeps 5. Laudanum Dream 6. Hypneurotic 7. Later, Then Now 8. Near Dark 9. Half Forgotten 10.
