Hexecutioner is preparing to unleash a new chapter of heavy, psychedelic darkness with the upcoming release of “Shapeshifter,” the first single from the band’s forthcoming full-length album, Ascension Rock .
Set for release on September 25, 2026 , “Shapeshifter” introduces listeners to the strange and expansive sonic world of Ascension Rock , with an accompanying official music video also in the works. The single will lead into the album’s full release on October 23, 2026 .
Drawing from doom metal, stoner rock, psych doom, hard rock, and traditional heavy metal, Hexecutioner crafts a sound built around massive riffs, melodic weight, psychedelic atmosphere, and a sense of ominous exploration. Ascension Rock pushes that formula into more epic territory, creating a record where crushing heaviness meets the feeling of something far more mysterious lurking just beyond the veil.
The band describes the world surrounding Ascension Rock as one of “high strangeness,” where energies of darkness and light, old and new, collide through wormholes, unseen forces, altered dimensions, and sound frequency rituals.
Following Hexecutioner’s well-received 2025 sophomore album, Tornit , Ascension Rock marks another step forward for the band. The new album features six tracks recorded with Dylan Wall at 7Hills Studio and introduces bassist Daniel McManus to the lineup alongside Erin Gravina (vocals/guitar) and Bryce Hebner (drums) .
The result is a carefully constructed slab of psychedelic heaviness designed to leave a lasting impression.
“Shapeshifter” arrives September 25, with Ascension Rock following October 23.
Hexecutioner Is:
Erin Gravina – Vocals / Guitar
Daniel McManus – Bass
Bryce Hebner – Drums

Instrumental guitarist and composer DARREN MICHAEL BOYD takes listeners on a haunting, atmospheric journey with “The Day Beneath Yesterday,” a standout track from his album Perpetual Night . Released January 25, 2026, the track blends dreamy, exotic textures with Boyd’s hard rock roots, creating an instrumental experience that is equal parts mysterious, melodic, and cinematic.
Described as Instrumental Spooky Surf , “The Day Beneath Yesterday” showcases Boyd’s approach to guitar-driven composition, where melody takes center stage and every note has a purpose.
“The Day Beneath Yesterday has a bit of a dreamy, exotic sound going on, while staying true to my Hard Rock roots. Melody is always my main focus – no wasted notes.”
The accompanying music video adds another layer of personality to the track, featuring Boyd putting a guitar through a particularly brutal visual experience. Eagle-eyed viewers may also spot a very special guest appearance from Bo the dog , who apparently had a great time watching a tornado of bubbles unfold during the shoot.
And as Boyd explains, the guitar had already reached the end of its useful life before filming, so no perfectly good instrument was harmed in the making of the video. Probably.
“The Day Beneath Yesterday” has also earned a notable distinction in Nashville, Tennessee, becoming the only instrumental Rock song currently in regular rotation on the JMA Network Music TV Channel .
Boyd’s momentum throughout 2025 and 2026 has been impressive. In 2026, he was nominated for three Josie Music Awards , including Instrumental Album of the Year for Perpetual Night , Instrumental Song of the Year for “The Day Beneath Yesterday,” and Musician of the Year – Guitarist .
His recent accomplishments also include having the Perpetual Night music video selected for the Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival in 2026. In 2025, Perpetual Night won Best Music Video at The Alternative Film Festival in Toronto (ALTFF) , while Boyd became a three-time finalist with an honourable mention at the Guitarist Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina . In 2024, he was named Composer of the Year at the Red Carpet Awards Show in Europe .
With Perpetual Night , Darren Michael Boyd continues to carve out a distinctive space where instrumental hard rock, atmospheric soundscapes, exotic melodies, and cinematic visual storytelling collide.
“The Day Beneath Yesterday” is out now.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s horror punk/heavy metal fiends Rise From Your Grave are set to unleash their new album, Choose Your Scare , on September 18, 2026 , marking the band’s first release of new music since their 2024 album Tales of Terror .
Blending the raw aggression of classic punk with the crushing influence of heavy metal, Rise From Your Grave have built a reputation in the underground for high-energy music, vivid horror storytelling, a wicked sense of humor, and an unapologetic love of all things macabre. Their sound strikes a bloody balance between punk attitude and metal muscle, making Choose Your Scare a natural next chapter for the Pittsburgh outfit.
Fans of Blitzkid, The Misfits, and Evelyn’s Casket will find plenty to sink their teeth into as Rise From Your Grave deliver another dose of horror-fueled punk mayhem.
Adding an extra dose of sinister atmosphere to the album, the song “The Phantom” features Katie Garner of Freddy VS on guest vocals. The collaboration brings another distinctive voice into the band’s twisted musical universe and adds to the album’s already formidable horror aesthetic.
Choose Your Scare was self-produced by Rise From Your Grave, keeping the release firmly rooted in the band’s own creative vision and underground DIY spirit.
Following Tales of Terror , Choose Your Scare represents the next evolution of Rise From Your Grave’s signature blend of horror punk and heavy metal. With new songs, new nightmares, and plenty of dark humor in store, the band is ready to crawl back out of the grave and make some noise.

MATT ZANE RESPONDS TO STATIC-X LAWSUIT: “THIS WON’T STOP ME” - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MATT ZANE RESPONDS TO STATIC-X LAWSUIT: “THIS WON’T STOP ME”
Filmmaker Addresses Lawsuit Seeking More Than $1 Million Over Disputed Wayne Static and Tera Wray Documentary
LOS ANGELES, CA — September 4, 2026 — Filmmaker Matt Zane is speaking out following a lawsuit filed by Static-X, bassist Tony Campos, and vocalist/manager Edsel Dope that seeks more than $1 million in damages and stems from an ongoing dispute surrounding Zane's documentary project focusing on the lives of late Static-X frontman Wayne Static and his wife, Tera Wray.
The lawsuit, filed in California on August 20, 2026, represents the latest escalation in a dispute that has developed around Zane's documentary project and his previous work with the Static-X camp. The lawsuit includes multiple claims, including copyright infringement, false light, breach of contract, breach of confidence, and alleged violations of California law. Those claims remain allegations and have not been adjudicated by a court.
Zane maintains that the origins of his documentary project go back years and that he had discussed the concept and received support for the project before circumstances surrounding his relationship with the Static-X camp changed.
According to Zane, the situation shifted once he was prepared to move forward with actively developing the film. He says Static-X subsequently withdrew its support, while the Wayne Static estate issued a cease-and-desist concerning the project.
Zane characterizes the lawsuit as the latest attempt to prevent the documentary from being completed and released.
“This is just another tactic to get me to stop making the documentary. It’s ridiculous. This won’t stop me,” said Zane.
Zane: “I Know What Wayne and Tera Wanted”
Zane says the documentary is intended to focus primarily on Wayne Static and Tera Wray, their relationship, and the final years of their lives, rather than functioning as another documentary about Static-X as a band.
The filmmaker has previously stated that he had discussed the concept with members of the Static-X camp and believed the projects could exist independently, with the official Evil Disco documentary focusing on Static-X while his film centers on Wayne and Tera as individuals. Zane has also publicly maintained that he had a longstanding personal and creative relationship with the couple.
Zane says he has attempted to communicate directly with members of both Wayne Static's and Tera Wray's families in an effort to explain what he describes as the documentary's actual purpose and intentions.
“I believe Wayne and Tera's family were lied to about my intentions,” said Zane. “I've talked to various people in both families. Tera's family thankfully saw enough of what Static-X were trying to do and pulled permission for Tera to be used in their movie Evil Disco . Unfortunately, Wayne's family won't directly correspond with me anymore.”
Zane has previously described his documentary as a separate project from Evil Disco , stating that he believes both films can exist because they tell fundamentally different stories.
Documentary Project Continues Despite Litigation
The lawsuit now adds another legal chapter to a dispute that has been publicly developing for more than a year. Zane has continued to defend his decision to pursue the documentary and has repeatedly stated that he intends to finish the project.
Despite the litigation, Zane says his position has not changed.
“This won’t stop me,” Zane reiterated.
The lawsuit is ongoing, and the allegations made in the complaint remain disputed. Zane maintains that he intends to continue pursuing his documentary and telling the story he believes Wayne Static and Tera Wray wanted told.

VALE END Unleash New Music Video for “Umbra” - @thebeast
VALE END Unleash New Music Video for “Umbra”
New England melodic/progressive metal band delivers a dark and atmospheric visual journey through fear, ghosts, and the demons within
New England melodic/progressive metal outfit VALE END have released their new music video for “Umbra,” available now exclusively through Metal Devastation Radio .
Blending eerie atmosphere, melodic heaviness, progressive musicianship, and powerful female-fronted vocals, Vale End have developed a sound that draws from influences ranging from Black Sabbath and Alice In Chains to Opeth, Mastodon, and Deftones . With “Umbra,” the band brings those elements together for a dark and visually engaging new release.
The band explains why they chose “Umbra” as their next single:
“We chose Umbra as our next single because we felt the lyrics complimented the slow, dark groove of the song. This lyric video has some excellent visuals tied into it as well that really make the lyrics come alive, wait until the end for some of the best of those visuals!”
Lyrically, “Umbra” explores the fear of allowing our darkest emotions to take control, using supernatural imagery to represent the ghosts, anxieties, and inner demons that can consume us.
“Umbra's lyrics tap into the fear of letting our darkest feelings take a hold of us in an almost supernatural way, being overwhelmed by the ghosts of our lives and the anxieties that become our demons. Death feels as if it looms over us in our dark thoughts but there is always a light to bring our souls back to better places.”
Those themes fit naturally with the band's overall identity.
Vale End takes its name from Vale End Cemetery in Wilton, New Hampshire , a historic cemetery with a reputation for being one of the most haunted locations in New England. Dating back to before the American Revolution, the cemetery and the folklore surrounding it have helped inspire the band's fascination with the darker side of New England history.
Originally formed as a creative outlet for musicians who were involved in separate projects, Vale End quickly developed into a full-time band focused on writing and performing music they were passionate about.
Their sound combines powerful, sometimes soaring clean vocals with eerie guitar chord voicings, heavy riffs, intricate bass work, and hard-hitting, articulate drumming. The result is a style that manages to be melodic and progressive while still bringing plenty of weight and aggression.
The band's five-song EP Prosthetic Waltz established that foundation. Recorded in September 2024 at Seven West Studios in Charleston, West Virginia, the EP was produced, engineered, recorded, and mixed by Chris “OJ” Ojeda of Byzantine , with mastering handled by Alan Douches of West West Side Music in New York.
With the release of “Umbra,” Vale End continue building toward an ambitious future that includes expanding their live reach, connecting with new audiences, recording more material, and pursuing opportunities for touring, distribution, and label support.

ROME, ITALY — Italian modern death metal force Hellucination officially unleash their new single “Petrified” , September 1, 2026. The track serves as the first single from the band's upcoming full-length album, Penumbral , opening the door to a darker, more introspective chapter in the band's evolution.
Built on crushing riffs, extreme aggression, intricate rhythmic structures, and atmospheric textures, “Petrified” offers a powerful introduction to the sonic world of Penumbral . Drawing from death metal, black metal, progressive metal, djent, hardcore, and post-metal, Hellucination have crafted a sound that balances sheer brutality with emotional depth and experimentation.
“Petrified” is the beginning of a much larger story.
Penumbral : A Story of Mourning, Obsession, and Letting Go
Penumbral is conceived as a true concept album, built around an original narrative exploring grief, obsession, the dissolution of identity, and ultimately the necessity of letting go.
The story follows two people connected by an exceptionally deep bond. When one dies, the survivor becomes consumed by grief, unable to accept the loss. That overwhelming mourning mysteriously disrupts the deceased's passage into the afterlife, bringing them back to the world of the living through an unnatural form of reincarnation.
At first, their reunion appears to be a miracle. But as time passes, the consequences of defying the natural order become impossible to ignore. The deceased is no longer truly part of the living world, while the survivor begins to recognize the distance and transformation separating them.
Ultimately, the natural cycle must be restored.
The deceased finds peace beyond life, while the survivor learns that true healing requires accepting loss, releasing grief, and moving forward. In this sense, Penumbral becomes a journey through mourning and obsession that culminates in symbolic death, acceptance, and rebirth.
A Sound Built From Darkness and Experimentation
Musically, Penumbral represents several years of creative development as Hellucination searched for a sound capable of bringing together the different sides of their musical identity.
The band's influences stretch from the crushing intensity and aggression of Gojira and Whitechapel to the technical complexity and atmospheric approach of Meshuggah and Cult of Luna . Rather than simply replicating those influences, Hellucination use them as foundations for a sound where heaviness, emotional depth, rhythmic complexity, and experimentation coexist.
Compared with their previous album, Multiverse , Penumbral pushes the band into darker and more introspective territory, mirroring the record's central themes.
The album's production was shaped through collaboration with Stefano Morabito at 1Gth Cellar Studio , resulting in a massive, contemporary production designed to preserve the personality and authenticity at the heart of Hellucination's music.
A Decade-Plus of Evolution
Formed in Rome in October 2010, Hellucination began as a four-piece featuring Massimiliano on bass, Andrea on drums, and Lorenzo Sicuro and Francesco Xella on guitars. The band quickly began writing original material and establishing themselves on the Roman metal circuit.
After several lineup changes, the band released their debut three-track EP, Ruins , in March 2013, followed by their first European tour through Slovakia and Poland.
Their first full-length album, Katabasis , arrived in March 2015. In 2017, Hellucination signed with Rome-based label Time To Kill Records and began work on their second full-length. That album, Multiverse , was released in May 2018, preceded by the single “Overhumanist.” Silvia Pistolesi joined the band on bass during the same period.
The years that followed saw Hellucination continue performing throughout Italy and Europe while developing partnerships with various gear and string brands. In 2020, the band also launched a Kickstarter campaign with Nebulae to fund their first post-pandemic concert. The campaign reached its goal in only six days, leading to their November 2021 return to the stage at Traffic Live Club in Rome.
In 2022, Hellucination joined Nebulae for the Pulses from the Multiverse 2022 Tour , performing across Italy and San Marino.
Now, the band enters its next chapter with Penumbral .

70,000 TONS OF METAL 2027: TALIA HOIT SET TO TAKE “WHEN THE SKIES FALL” TO THE HIGH SEAS - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TALIA HOIT SET TO TAKE SYMPHONIC METAL TO THE HIGH SEAS AT 70,000 TONS OF METAL 2027
Following the Release of Her Acclaimed New Album “When The Skies Fall,” Talia Hoit Joins a Stacked International Lineup Featuring Exodus, Wolfheart, Brymir, Avaland and More
JACKSON, TN – September 3, 2026 – The timing couldn't be better for Talia Hoit .
Just days after the release of her powerful new full-length album “When The Skies Fall” via SAOL, a division of CMM GmbH , symphonic metal artist Talia Hoit has been officially confirmed for 70,000 Tons of Metal 2027 , bringing her music to one of the most prestigious and unique metal festivals in the world.
Hoit's appearance aboard the 2027 sailing comes at a pivotal moment in her career. Her second full-length album, released August 28, has already received international attention, including an impressive 8/10 rating from legendary German metal publication Rock Hard Magazine .
Now, she is taking that music to sea.
70,000 Tons of Metal 2027 will feature 60 bands performing two sets each , bringing thousands of metal fans together for an unparalleled festival experience aboard the ship.
And the lineup is getting seriously heavy.
Among the latest wave of artists announced alongside Talia Hoit are legendary thrash metal veterans Exodus , Finnish melodic death metal powerhouse Wolfheart , Finnish melodic metal act Brymir , cinematic metal project Avaland , and Famous Strangers , adding even more international firepower to an already massive 2027 lineup.
For Talia Hoit, being selected for the festival represents a major new chapter following the release of When The Skies Fall .
The album finds Hoit pushing her deeply personal songwriting into a larger symphonic metal landscape, combining intimate piano and vocal compositions with sweeping orchestration, powerful metal instrumentation, and emotionally charged performances.
Rock Hard Magazine's Iberis praised the album as an “even more powerful and evocative evolution” of Hoit's 2024 debut Oceans , ultimately describing When The Skies Fall as:
“A work as powerful as it is fragile.”
The publication also characterized Hoit's songwriting as “art born from urgent necessity, not commercial calculation.”
Those words speak directly to the heart of Hoit's music.
Long before the songs became fully realized symphonic metal compositions, many began as personal reflections, poems, melodies, and emotional processing. Hoit describes this foundation as her “piano confessional” , where deeply personal experiences become the starting point for songs about identity, transformation, love, grief, loss, resilience, and emotional survival.
Now those songs are headed to one of metal's most legendary stages.
And in the case of 70,000 Tons of Metal, the stage just happens to be floating in the middle of the ocean.
FROM “WHEN THE SKIES FALL” TO 70,000 TONS
The release of When The Skies Fall marks a significant evolution in Talia Hoit's artistic journey.
Following her 2024 debut album Oceans , Hoit has expanded her sound into a cinematic and emotionally expansive form of symphonic metal while maintaining the intimate songwriting foundation that makes her music uniquely personal.
Singles including “All You Want” and “Again” have already introduced listeners to the album's emotional world, while the complete ten-track record tells a much larger story of what happens when everything familiar begins to crumble and the struggle to discover what remains.
That journey now continues aboard 70,000 Tons of Metal.
For an artist whose music explores the tension between devastation and hope, there may be no better setting than a ship filled with thousands of metal fans, surrounded by ocean, with some of the world's most respected metal acts performing just steps away.
Talia Hoit is going to sea.
And she's bringing When The Skies Fall with her.

SIX STRING REVOLVER Unleashes Hard-Hitting New Single and Video “Sick Mind” - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SIX STRING REVOLVER Unleashes Hard-Hitting New Single and Video “Sick Mind”
Southern Utah Hard Rock Powerhouse Takes a Stand Against Internet Predators With an Unapologetic New Anthem
HURRICANE, UT – August 25, 2026 – American hard rock powerhouse SIX STRING REVOLVER is turning up the volume and shining a light into some of the darkest corners of the internet with the release of their powerful new single and video, “Sick Mind,” available now via Ragebreed Records and Earache Digital Distribution .
Released August 21, “Sick Mind” is more than another hard rock anthem. It is a direct confrontation of internet predators and sexual deviants who hide behind screens while exploiting vulnerable people. With its heavy riffs, thunderous groove, commanding vocals, and unapologetic message, SIX STRING REVOLVER delivers a song designed not only to make listeners move, but to make them pay attention.
“Sick Mind” is a statement song confronting internet predators and sexual deviants who hide behind screens to exploit others. This song was written to expose the predators who perpetrate these heinous acts and to shine a light into some of the darkest corners of the internet.
The band continues:
“When we witness evil in this world, we believe we have a responsibility to speak up and expose it. Six String Revolver will never hesitate to stand against abuse, exploitation, or those who prey upon the innocent.”
Musically, “Sick Mind” captures everything SIX STRING REVOLVER stands for: loud guitars, honest lyrics, massive grooves, and the kind of hard rock attitude that refuses to disappear. The band combines classic rock swagger with modern intensity, creating a sound that feels equally at home blasting from a stage or through a pair of headphones.
The track was produced by Peggy Foster and Robert Cantu and mixed by Tom Chandler at Elite Studios in Hollywood, California .
A HARD ROCK FORCE BUILT ON EXPERIENCE
Based in Hurricane, Utah, SIX STRING REVOLVER has quickly established itself as a Southern Utah hard rock force built on grit, soul, musicianship, and an old-school commitment to putting on a killer rock show.
At the front of the band is Raven Cain , whose life story and musical career have shaped him into the charismatic driving force behind SIX STRING REVOLVER. A vocalist, occasional guitarist, songwriter, and veteran touring musician, Cain has performed alongside major acts including Henry Rollins, L.A. Guns, Sevendust, Ratt, Saliva, Faster Pussycat, BulletBoys, and Hed PE .
Cain's career has also included work with major labels including Universal Music Group, multiple #1 hits on the 365 Music Charts, and appearances as the subject of books, television programs, and educational films. His soulful delivery and introspective, hard-hitting songwriting provide the emotional core of SIX STRING REVOLVER.
On lead guitar, Hawkeye Pearce brings years of experience, technical firepower, and arena-sized melodic instincts to the band. Pearce has opened for legendary artists including Alice Cooper, Sammy Hagar, Great White, Nazareth, and Rick Derringer , while also performing with a Las Vegas Best Entertainer-nominated act.
Bill “Ash” Dent anchors the low end with a combination of precision, power, and decades of experience as a bassist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, session musician, and audio engineer. His massive grooves provide the foundation for the band's relentless sound.
Behind the kit is Robert “Monster” Cantu , a high-octane drummer whose influences range from John Bonham, Buddy Rich, and Peter Criss to modern masters Mike Mangini and Matt Garstka. A veteran of venues including the Whisky a Go Go, The Troubadour, The Roxy, and Galaxy Theatre, Cantu has toured extensively and shared bills with King's X, Fates Warning, and George Lynch .
Together, these four seasoned musicians have created a band that is less interested in following trends and more interested in keeping real rock music alive.
SIX STRING REVOLVER doesn't follow trends. They load the chamber, pull the trigger, and let the music speak.

The first taste of the new album has already arrived in the form of “Curse You All,” which was released on July 31, 2026 . The single serves as the opening salvo for a record built around one simple philosophy: absolute sonic carnage with zero compromise.

Masterminded by Dave the Demon Christ Incognito , Demon Christ delivers a vicious collision of black metal darkness, death metal brutality, and deathcore punishment. With veteran musicians contributing to the attack, including Mike LePond of Symphony X on bass, along with live bassist [veteran loss of breath] , keyboardist and backing vocalist Shannon Red , the new album expands the Demon Christ sound while pushing its extreme-metal foundation even harder.
There is no polished-up, watered-down version of Demon Christ. No apologies. No concern for delicate sensibilities. This is music built for listeners who want their extreme metal loud, hostile, uncompromising, and unapologetically fucking heavy.
“Curse You All” sets the tone immediately, unleashing the kind of crushing intensity that makes it clear Sins Burn Black isn't coming to play nice. The forthcoming album takes that attack even further, exploring the more brutal realms of blackened deathcore, death metal, and black metal while maintaining the relentless aggression that defines Demon Christ.
After establishing the band's identity with the self-titled debut, Dave the Demon Christ Incognito returns with a second album that aims to go darker, heavier, and more extreme. Sins Burn Black isn't simply a continuation of the Demon Christ story. It's the next step in its evolution.
And this time, the curse comes with a bigger hammer.
Sins Burn Black arrives October 31, 2026 , bringing the second chapter of Demon Christ to life through Ragebreed Records and Earache Digital Distribution .

BLIND ILLUSION Announces “STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre” Featuring Original Vocalist David White - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BLIND ILLUSION Announces “STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre” Featuring Original Vocalist David White
Progressive Thrash Metal Pioneers Capture Historic 2025 Performance for New Live Album Due October 16, 2026
BERKELEY, CA — Progressive thrash metal pioneers Blind Illusion are set to unleash their new live album, STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre , on October 16, 2026 through Hectic Records / Bleeding Priest Records . The release captures a historic 2025 performance featuring original Blind Illusion vocalist David White , recorded at the UC Theatre in Berkeley, California, during a special celebration of Exodus’ 40th anniversary of Bonded by Blood .
For fans of Coroner, Watchtower, and Exodus , STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre showcases Blind Illusion at full power, bringing the band’s progressive approach to thrash metal to the stage in a performance that connects the group’s legendary past with its continuing evolution.
Originally established in 1978 , Blind Illusion has spent nearly five decades carving out its own distinctive place within the underground metal landscape. Led by mastermind Mark Biedermann on lead guitar and vocals, the band’s current lineup features Phil Cosentini on drums, Avery Thurman on bass, and Martin Lacour on lead guitar.
The new live album also serves as another chapter in the remarkable history of Blind Illusion and its landmark debut, The Sane Asylum . Originally released in 1988, the album has gone on to become regarded as a classic of progressive thrash metal. The record featured Biedermann alongside guitarist Larry Lalonde , bassist Les Claypool , and drummer Mike Miner , delivering now-classic tracks including “Vengeance Is Mine,” “Death Noise,” “Kamikaze,” “Smash The Crystal,” and “Blood Shower.”
Biedermann’s musical history extends well beyond Blind Illusion. In 1987, while working with legendary producer Sandy Pearlman , he contributed rhythm guitar and guitar leads to four songs for Blue Öyster Cult’s Imaginos , working alongside musicians including Joe Satriani and Robbie Krieger of The Doors .
Blind Illusion continued to evolve throughout the following decades. The band returned in 2010 with Demon Master , shifting toward a more traditional heavy metal sound. In 2014, bassist Harald Oimoen of D.R.I. joined forces with Biedermann and helped inspire a return to the progressive thrash metal style that defined The Sane Asylum .
Further lineup changes followed, including a 2017 incarnation featuring Doug Piercy of Heathen and Anvil Chorus on lead guitar. The band released the 2018 EP and toured Europe. In 2020, legendary Death Angel drummer Andy Galeon joined Blind Illusion, contributing to the band's Wrath of the Gods album, released in 2022, followed by additional European touring and festival appearances.
In 2024, Blind Illusion introduced its current lineup and returned to the live stage. Then, in 2025, the band reunited with original vocalist David White , performing alongside Exodus, Death Angel, and Nukem at the UC Theatre in Berkeley on Paul Baloff’s birthday as part of the celebration surrounding Exodus’ 40th anniversary of Bonded by Blood .
That performance became the foundation for STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre .
The story didn't stop there. Blind Illusion later appeared at the Frost and Fire V Festival in Ventura, California, where the band performed The Sane Asylum in its entirety for the first time in its history, giving longtime fans the opportunity to hear the influential album performed live as a complete work.
With STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre , Blind Illusion once again proves that nearly five decades into its existence, the band remains a vital force in progressive thrash metal. The release captures a significant moment in the band's history while celebrating the music, musicians, and underground metal spirit that have kept Blind Illusion moving forward since 1978.
STAGE FLIGHT: Live At The UC Theatre will be released October 16, 2026 as a 12-inch vinyl LP , pressed at 33 RPM , through Hectic Records / Bleeding Priest Records .

PLUSMINUSZERO RELEASES UPTEMPO NEW SINGLE “RUNNER’S HIGH” VIA DOWNFALL RECORDS - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PLUSMINUSZERO RELEASES UPTEMPO NEW SINGLE “RUNNER’S HIGH” VIA DOWNFALL RECORDS
Finnish Hard Rock / Metal Outfit Continues Its First Run of Releases Ahead of Upcoming Album
HELSINKI, FINLAND | AUGUST 31, 2026 Finnish hard rock and metal band Plusminuszero have released their new single “Runner’s High,” available digitally now via Downfall Records . Released on August 28, 2026, the track is the third single from the band’s upcoming album , with further details surrounding the full-length still to be announced.
“Runner’s High” delivers an uptempo, melodic blend of hard rock and metal , showcasing the band’s ability to combine driving energy with strong melodies and a classic heavy-rock foundation. The new single continues the momentum established by Plusminuszero’s first releases since the band formed in Helsinki in 2025.
While the name Plusminuszero may be new, the musicians behind the band are far from strangers to one another or to the Finnish heavy music scene.
The members have a history that stretches back to the early 2000s, when several of them released three full-length albums with a previous band and spent years touring across Finland. Their experience took them everywhere from small bars and clubs to some of the major festivals of the era, building the kind of road-tested chemistry that only comes from years of playing music together.
Eventually, the desire to create and perform heavy music brought them back together.
Plusminuszero began when guitarist Toni Sundström and bassist Ilkka Rasi started working on new material. Vocalist Petri Korhonen and drummer Janne Kaartinen later completed the lineup, bringing the project into full form.
Since then, the band have taken an independent approach to their music, recording and mixing their material themselves while reconnecting with the hard rock and metal roots that originally shaped them.
That combination of experience and renewed energy is at the heart of Plusminuszero. There is no need to pretend these musicians are discovering heavy music for the first time. They have already spent years writing songs, recording albums, touring, and standing on stages across Finland. Now they are bringing that experience into a new chapter.
“Runner’s High” represents the latest step in that return.
With three singles now released, anticipation continues to build for Plusminuszero’s upcoming album. More information about the album is expected to be revealed at a later date.
“Runner’s High” is out now digitally via Downfall Records.

TRIVAN: VANJA ŠANTAK TALKS LOSS, INNER DEMONS, AND THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND ETERNAL SHORE - @thebeast
TRIVAN: VANJA ŠANTAK TALKS LOSS, INNER DEMONS, AND THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND ETERNAL SHORE
Croatian extreme metal band TRIVAN recently joined The Zach Moonshine Show on Metal Devastation Radio for a powerful conversation about music, loss, self-discovery, the band's unique philosophy, and their upcoming debut album, Eternal Shore .
Vanja Šantak, the driving force behind TRIVAN, opened up about the deeply personal experiences that have shaped the band's music, including the recent loss of his beloved dog.
The conversation began with "Abyss of Crawling Shadows," an emotional track originally inspired by someone Vanja knew who was struggling with depression. At first, Vanja wanted to write about something he didn't personally understand. That changed after his dog suddenly became seriously ill and was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Vanja was forced to make the heartbreaking decision to put his dog to sleep.
The experience gave the song an entirely different meaning.
For Vanja, dogs aren't simply pets. They're family, companions, and beings capable of communicating through a language of pure emotion. His loss became one of the major emotional forces behind the music he is now creating.
A STRANGE NEW BEGINNING
Not long afterward, Vanja encountered another dog under circumstances he described as almost impossible to explain.
He discovered a litter of puppies born on the same day as his previous dog. Among them was a black male puppy who wasn't originally shown in the photographs.
When Vanja eventually met the puppies, that particular dog immediately ran toward him.
After bringing the puppy home, another strange thing happened. Despite being only a few months old, the dog seemed to know exactly where he was going and already understood basic commands.
The experience even caused Vanja to reconsider his previous disbelief in reincarnation.
The story has already inspired another TRIVAN song, which is currently being mixed and mastered.
WHAT DOES TRIVAN MEAN?
The name TRIVAN combines the ideas of triviality and vanquish , representing the band's desire to defeat the trivial things that can consume our lives.
The band began taking shape in 2018 after Vanja had stepped away from music for several years. Following lineup changes and the disruption caused by COVID, he eventually returned to his original goal of creating darker and more extreme music.
By around 2023, the TRIVAN lineup had come together.
But the band wasn't interested in simply repeating the usual black metal themes.
Instead, TRIVAN's philosophy is about confronting your own darkness.
Vanja describes the band's demons as the darker parts of ourselves that we often try to avoid. Rather than simply destroying those demons, he believes we should understand them, confront them, conquer them, and ultimately learn from them.
It's a philosophy that runs through the band's music.
FROM PERSONAL PRESSURE TO "BLACK AND HARD PLEDGE"
One example is "Black and Hard Pledge," which came from a period when Vanja was working toward his PhD.
The pressure to become the best student of the year began consuming him. He stopped training, gained weight, and eventually realized he had lost sight of himself.
Looking in the mirror became the breaking point.
The song became a promise to himself to stop allowing outside pressure to destroy his inner peace and to become the best version of himself.
Another track, "Dance of Death," takes a wider look at society, conformity, hypocrisy, and the constant pressure people face to follow whatever trend comes next.
The title references the medieval concept of the Dance of Death, where death dances with everyone regardless of wealth or status.
The message is simple: eventually, everything ends.
Ironically, just weeks after the song was released, Vanja had to say goodbye to his dog, making the song's themes of mortality even more personal.
ETERNAL SHORE
All of these experiences eventually became part of TRIVAN's upcoming debut album, Eternal Shore .
Originally planned as a 13-song album, the record was eventually reduced to eight tracks because of the length and depth of the songs.
The album is heavily influenced by Vanja's own life.
One of its most personal songs, "Eternal Shore," came from spreading his dog's ashes on a beach where they had spent time together.
Vanja explained that he wants the same thing for himself someday.
Rather than being buried in a casket, he wants his ashes spread on that beach so he can symbolically spend eternity there with his dogs, watching the waves, sunsets, and sunrises.
It is a surprisingly peaceful image for an extreme metal record, but it perfectly captures what TRIVAN is about.
Darkness doesn't always mean despair.
Sometimes you have to walk through the darkness to find peace.
OLD-SCHOOL METAL AND THE CROATIAN SCENE
Vanja also talked about discovering metal growing up in what was then Yugoslavia.
His uncle played in a rock band, so guitars, drums, bass, and rehearsals were part of his childhood.
Later, Alice Cooper's Trash became a major influence, followed by bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Marduk, Cradle of Filth, Satyricon, and Immortal.
In the 1990s, discovering new music meant listening to radio programs, visiting record stores, and actually hunting down physical CDs.
Vanja reflected on how different that was from today's streaming world, where virtually every band on Earth is only a few clicks away.
The Croatian metal scene itself remains active, with concerts happening regularly and international bands frequently passing through the country.
TRIVAN hopes to eventually expand beyond Croatia, with plans for shows throughout Slovenia and Austria and, eventually, the United States.
MORE THAN 10 MILLION VOTES
TRIVAN also made serious noise recently by winning a Battle of the Bands competition with more than 10 million votes .
Vanja explained that the band's massive support network stretches across the globe, including Croatia, Chile, Japan, and elsewhere.
He even mobilized people in his own apartment building and neighborhood, including a local Facebook group with tens of thousands of members.
The band's supporters didn't simply click a button once and walk away.
They went to war.
And the results were undeniable.
THE ROAD TO AMERICA
TRIVAN is currently preparing Eternal Shore for its planned February release while continuing to release singles and build its audience.
The band is also working with Blood Red Covenant Records to expand its presence in the United States.
And Vanja has one particular American goal in mind.
Tennessee Metal Devastation Music Fest.
After watching footage and a documentary about the festival, Vanja said he and the band would love to make the trip to Tennessee, experience the festival's raw energy, and eventually share a stage there.
That would be one hell of a way to bring this story full circle.
TRIVAN's Eternal Shore is shaping up to be more than a metal album. It's a musical journey through grief, pressure, darkness, self-discovery, mortality, and ultimately finding your own path.
As Vanja Šantak puts it, the goal isn't simply to run from your demons.
Conquer them. Become friends with them. And come out stronger on the other side.

METAL FOR NEPAL Launches Emergency Appeal Following Devastating Nepal Floods - @thebeast
METAL FOR NEPAL Launches Emergency Appeal Following Devastating Nepal Floods
The organization rooted in Nepal's metal and arts community is calling on the global heavy music family to help communities devastated by catastrophic flooding
The global metal community has never exactly been known for sitting quietly on the sidelines when people need help. Now, Metal For Nepal is asking that community to once again come together following a devastating natural disaster that has torn through communities in Nepal.
On the morning of August 26, 2026 , a sudden and catastrophic flash flood surged through the Bhotekoshi River system in Nepal's Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, after originating from the Tibetan side of the border. Villages, roads, bridges and critical infrastructure were swept away or severely damaged, leaving families displaced and communities facing an enormous humanitarian crisis.
The exact chain of events that triggered the disaster is still being investigated. Initial assessments pointed toward a possible glacial lake outburst flood, while subsequent geological assessments have examined the possibility of an ice avalanche creating a temporary debris blockage that later failed. What is beyond dispute is the scale and speed of the destruction.
The flood traveled downstream through the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river systems, affecting communities well beyond the initial impact zone. Search-and-rescue operations involving the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police remain underway, while damaged roads, bridges and difficult mountain terrain continue to make access extremely challenging.
Communities Were Hit With Almost No Warning
According to Metal For Nepal, the disaster swept through settlements along the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers, including areas around Timure and Syabrubesi in Rasuwa.
The organization reports that six major hydropower and transmission facilities were damaged, resulting in an estimated 430 MW of lost generating capacity , roughly one-eighth of Nepal's installed power capacity. Flood warnings have also been extended to downstream districts including Dhading, Gorkha and Chitwan.
For the people living in these communities, however, the statistics only tell part of the story.
Homes, belongings and food supplies have been destroyed. Families have been displaced. Children are among those facing the immediate consequences, including loss of shelter, clean water and access to basic necessities.
And that is where Metal For Nepal is stepping in.
Metal For Nepal Is Mobilizing Again
Metal For Nepal was founded in 2015 by members of Nepal's metal community , including the band Underside, following the devastating earthquakes that struck the country that year.
Working alongside international supporters and local partners, the organization helped rebuild more than 300 homes in Gorkha following the earthquakes. Since then, its work has expanded to include food distribution, vaccination campaigns, hot meals, education initiatives and other humanitarian projects.
Now, the organization is once again activating its network.
Metal For Nepal says it is working with established local NGO partners in Nepal to deliver emergency assistance to affected communities, including emergency supplies, clean water and longer-term rebuilding support.
While children are a particular priority because of their vulnerability following a disaster, the organization stresses that the response will serve affected people of all ages.
"We need to come together exactly like we did after the 2015 earthquake. The heavy metal and tattoo community has always shown up for people in need, and this moment is no different. Every donation goes straight toward getting families and children the support they need right now."
Flower KC, Director, Metal For Nepal
This Is Where The Metal Community Comes In
This isn't about a record release. It isn't about streaming numbers, chart positions or who is headlining the next festival.
It's about people.
The heavy music community is spread across virtually every corner of the planet, and Metal For Nepal has spent more than a decade proving that the connections created through music can be turned into something tangible when disaster strikes.
A donation doesn't have to be enormous to matter. Metal For Nepal is asking people to contribute whatever they can, while also encouraging musicians, promoters, media outlets, artists, tattoo communities and fans to help spread the word.
If you can't donate, share the appeal .
If you're a band, post it.
If you're a promoter, put it in your newsletter.
If you're a metal media outlet, run the story.
If you have a platform, use it.
Sometimes the most valuable thing you can give is simply helping the right message reach the right people.
How You Can Help
Metal For Nepal has established an Emergency Appeal for the August 2026 Nepal floods , with donations supporting its response alongside local partners on the ground.
Emergency Appeal:
Metal For Nepal Emergency Appeal 2026
Donate:
Metal For Nepal Donation Page
Main Website:
Metal For Nepal
The organization says the situation remains fluid and that its emergency appeal will be updated as verified information becomes available.
The Metal Family Has A Long Memory
Nepal's metal community has already shown the world what can happen when musicians and fans decide that their scene can be about more than music.
After the 2015 earthquake, the international metal community answered the call.
Now Nepal needs that same spirit again.
This is one of those moments when the metal family needs to turn the volume up for something that actually matters.
Share the appeal. Donate if you can. Get the word out.
Because when disaster strikes, the heavy metal community has always had a pretty simple rule:
We take care of our own.

MINISTRY Unleashes New Single “We Hate” Ahead Of Final Album Hate To Go (Take Out Or Delivery) - @thebeast
MINISTRY Unleashes New Single “We Hate” Ahead Of Final Album Hate To Go (Take Out Or Delivery)
Industrial metal pioneers Ministry have released their new single “We Hate,” the second track to emerge from what is being billed as the band’s final studio album, Hate To Go (Take Out Or Delivery).
After more than four decades of industrial noise, political fury, controversy, experimentation and enough sonic destruction to make a busted factory sound like a recording studio, Ministry is preparing to call it a day.
The Al Jourgensen-led outfit has unleashed “We Hate,” the latest single from Hate To Go (Take Out Or Delivery), which is scheduled for release October 30, 2026 through Cleopatra Records.
And if the title wasn't already a pretty big clue, Jourgensen apparently isn't planning to go quietly.
The new track takes aim squarely at the current political climate, with Ministry once again using its music as a weapon against what Jourgensen sees as the increasingly absurd state of American society. The accompanying video, directed by Joshua Bradford, continues that confrontational approach.
The song follows “Burned Out,” which was released in July and served as the first preview of the forthcoming record.
Hate To Go (Take Out Or Delivery) will feature 10 tracks:
Crickets
Voices of Hate
Clown Car
We Hate
Delete
Grifter
The White Man Lied
Singularity
Burned Out
We're Still Here (feat. Paul Barker)
One of the most significant moments on the album comes with its closing track, “We're Still Here,” which features the return of longtime Ministry bassist and collaborator Paul Barker. Barker's involvement gives the album an especially interesting connection to Ministry's past as Jourgensen prepares to close the book on the band's studio career.
The current Ministry lineup contributing to the record includes guitarists Monte Pittman and Cesar Soto, bassist Paul D'Amour, keyboardist John Bechdel and drummer Pepe Clarke Magaña, alongside Jourgensen.
45 Years Of Ministry
Founded in Chicago in 1981, Ministry began life with a considerably different sound from the industrial-metal juggernaut that would eventually emerge.
The band's early material leaned heavily into synth-pop and the emerging electronic sounds of the era, culminating in the 1983 debut With Sympathy. Jourgensen soon began pushing Ministry into considerably darker and heavier territory, resulting in landmark releases including Twitch (1986), The Land of Rape and Honey (1988) and The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste (1989).
Then came 1992's Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs, which propelled Ministry to its biggest level of mainstream recognition and earned the band its first Grammy nomination.
Over the decades, Ministry became one of the defining forces behind industrial metal, influencing countless bands while maintaining Jourgensen's reputation for saying exactly what he thinks, whether anyone asked him to or not.
The band has released 17 studio albums, eight live releases and numerous side projects, while touring across five continents. Jourgensen has also survived enough personal and professional chaos to fill several bands' worth of memoirs, documentaries and rock 'n' roll cautionary tales.
Ministry went on an indefinite hiatus in 2013 before returning in 2018 with AmeriKKKant. That record continued the band's long tradition of political commentary, something that remained central to subsequent releases including 2021's Moral Hygiene and 2024's HOPIUMFORTHEMASSES.
Last year's The Squirrely Years Revisited saw Jourgensen revisit and rework material from Ministry's early synth-pop period.
Now, with Hate To Go (Take Out Or Delivery), Jourgensen appears ready to put a final stamp on the Ministry legacy.
One Last Trip Around The World
Ministry will support the album with an international farewell tour, giving fans one more opportunity to experience the band's blend of industrial metal, electronic chaos and politically charged aggression in the live setting.
The European portion of the farewell campaign is currently scheduled to kick off April 2, 2027, in Utrecht, Netherlands, and will continue through May 1 in Helsinki, Finland.
The “Goodbye Europe 2027” run includes 21 shows and will feature Die Krupps as special guests.
The scheduled dates are:
April 2 – Utrecht, Netherlands – Ronda
April 3 – Saarbrücken, Germany – Garage
April 4 – Brussels, Belgium – Ancienne Belgique
April 6 – Manchester, UK – O2 Victoria Warehouse
April 7 – Dublin, Ireland – 3Olympia
April 9 – Nottingham, UK – Rock City
April 10 – London, UK – Troxy
April 12 – Paris, France – Bataclan
April 14 – Madrid, Spain – La Riviera
April 15 – Barcelona, Spain – Paral-lel
April 17 – Lausanne, Switzerland – Docks
April 18 – Munich, Germany – Tonhalle
April 19 – Vienna, Austria – Gasometer
April 21 – Prague, Czech Republic – Forum Karlín
April 22 – Warsaw, Poland – Progresja
April 24 – Berlin, Germany – Columbiahalle
April 25 – Hamburg, Germany – Grosse Freiheit 36
April 26 – Copenhagen, Denmark – Amager Bio
April 27 – Oslo, Norway – Rockefeller
April 29 – Stockholm, Sweden – Fållan
May 1 – Helsinki, Finland – House of Culture
Special meet-and-greet packages with Jourgensen will also be available for the tour, including a photo opportunity, souvenir laminate, silk-screen poster and commemorative tour coin.
Whether Hate To Go (Take Out Or Delivery) ultimately proves to be Ministry's final album remains something only time will tell. Rock 'n' roll has never exactly been famous for keeping retirement plans simple.
But if this really is the end of Ministry's studio journey, Jourgensen certainly seems intent on leaving the building the same way he spent the last 45 years: loud, abrasive, unapologetic and pissed off.
Hate To Go (Take Out Or Delivery) arrives October 30, 2026 via Cleopatra Records and will be released on vinyl, CD, cassette and digital formats.

BLEEDING ANTLERS UNLEASH DARKER, HEAVIER SOPHOMORE ALBUM SONGS OF PRAISE OUT NOW - @thebeast
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BLEEDING ANTLERS UNLEASH DARKER, HEAVIER SOPHOMORE ALBUM SONGS OF PRAISE OUT NOW
UK Doom Metal Collective Returns With Seven Tracks of Crushing Doom, Gothic Atmosphere, Folk Horror, and Occult Storytelling
UK doom metal collective Bleeding Antlers have officially unleashed their long-awaited sophomore album, Songs of Praise , out now as of August 22, 2026 .
Six years after emerging from the shadows with their critically acclaimed debut Stagmata , Bleeding Antlers have returned with a darker, heavier, and more expansive collection that pushes their bizarre and theatrical brand of doom metal even further into the darkness.
Originally formed out of what was supposed to be nothing more than a stag party adventure across Europe in 2016, Bleeding Antlers somehow turned an unlikely brotherhood into one of underground doom's most distinctive outfits. Their sound combines crushing doom metal with progressive rock, sleaze, folk shanties, gothic atmosphere, and a healthy dose of theatrical madness.
Where Stagmata introduced the world to Bleeding Antlers, Songs of Praise finds the band embracing the silence between the riffs and using it to make the heavy moments hit even harder.
"Stagmata was us finding the sound of Bleeding Antlers. Songs of Praise is us learning what to do with the silence around it. More space, more weight, and a lot darker in tone than Stagmata."
Produced, mixed, and mastered by Simon Bismarck , Songs of Praise delivers seven haunting compositions exploring temptation, loss, mythology, mortality, and spiritual conflict.
Despite its title, this is certainly no traditional hymnbook. These are songs of devotion aimed toward altogether different altars.
The album moves from the apocalyptic groove of "When the Sun Bursts" and the folk-horror atmosphere of "Meet Me in the Woods at Midnight" to the Norse-inspired weight of "Fimbulwinter" and the band's haunting reinterpretation of Lana Del Rey's "Blue Jeans."
The journey concludes with "Crooked Lines," an epic meditation on faith, temptation, and the eternal struggle between light and darkness.
Bleeding Antlers first made their mark with Stagmata , earning widespread praise throughout the underground metal community for their uniquely theatrical approach to doom.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM FOR STAGMATA
"Behind the satyr masks and cloven-hoofed animal obsession they have genuinely excellent songs and an album that draws you in with each listen."
4.5/5 – Emerging Rock Bands Magazine
"Perhaps the finest set of sleazy psychedelic doom shanties ever committed to record."
The Metal Show
"Folk-goth glamour, Hammer-horror camp and drunken satanic swagger... you'd have a hell of a good time."
No Clean Singing
"Stagmata is the sound I wish Metallica had evolved into after Reload."
7.5/10 – Rock Hard Greece
With Songs of Praise now available, Bleeding Antlers are taking the new material to the stage with a series of UK headline performances beginning in September, followed by appearances at Rustfest , North West Doom Fest , Godivageddon , and additional festival dates extending into 2027.
Equal parts cathedral doom, occult folk tale, folk-horror fever dream, and drunken midnight sermon, Songs of Praise represents Bleeding Antlers at their darkest, heaviest, and most ambitious.
The sermon has begun.
Turn it up.
