Truism, led by Dzvon Cyndzer (from the legendary Polish band Acid Drinkers), has quickly carved a niche within the global metal scene. Joined by Maciej Morawski, Adam Hajdasz, and Slaver Wolowicz, the band offers a refreshing take on modern metal, mixing raw power and intricate melodies. Following their debut EP, Insanitarium, co-produced with the legendary Tue Madsen (known for his work with Meshuggah, Suicide Silence, and more), Truism is ready to push boundaries further with their latest single.
A Message From Beyond

In the midst of chaos and uncertainty, Photon urges listeners to dig deeper within themselves to find strength in the face of adversity. The song’s title, referencing the fundamental particle of light, embodies the band's philosophy of overcoming personal limitations and finding the courage to push forward.

Dzvon Cyndzer, the band's leader, explains:

“Life is not just a collection of events. It’s a continuous struggle where pain and pressure are tools for growth. In what we do, instead of pursuing happiness, we strive to find happiness in the pursuit itself. That’s where the meaning of life lies. With this track, we aim to capture a piece of that philosophy and inspire others to take action themselves.”

In Truism’s world, light is not confined by gravity, and the band encourages their fans to transcend their boundaries and emerge stronger from challenges. Photon is more than just a song; it’s an anthem of empowerment for those navigating life's toughest journeys.
A Sonic Collaboration and Tribute to Fans

The track also features a guest appearance from Zbigniew Krzywański, guitarist of the legendary Polish band Republika, whose solo parts evoke the sounds of Fredrik Thordendal (Meshuggah) and Adrian Belew. Additionally, the band invited their fans to participate in the recording by contributing vocal shouts that were layered into the song’s powerful chorus. This unique inclusion is Truism's tribute to the fans, reinforcing the message that the boundary between creator and listener is blurred – we are all made of the same stardust.

“It’s our tribute to the fans,” says Dzvon. “The boundary between creator and listener is now illusory and overrated. We’re all made of the same stardust. So, if you want to roar with us, come aboard!”
More Than Just a Single

Unlike traditional promotional singles, Photon is part of a larger creative plan. Truism has opted to release music on their terms, unveiling tracks periodically instead of adhering to the conventional LP release cycle. This approach allows them to maintain a consistent presence and keep fans engaged, while also building momentum for future releases and potentially attracting label interest.

“It’s no secret that the traditional LP release model is dying before our eyes,” Dzvon explains. “As a fully independent band, we’re free from any pressure except our own. We have overflowing material, but we’ve decided to release music when it feels right for us.”

Scarecrow, a heavy rock band hailing from Perm, Russia, is proud to announce the release of Scarecrow III, their third full-length album, which dropped on November 13, 2024. This ambitious album is a bold fusion of classic heavy rock, progressive elements, and cinematic symphonic arrangements, offering listeners a journey through the realms of ethnic melodies, tribal rhythms, and full orchestral power.

For Scarecrow III, the band has gone beyond traditional boundaries. Their sonic journey was shaped by travels to several ancient regions, including the deserts and ancient cities of Egypt, the barchans of the Sahara in Tunisia, the Singing Dunes of Kazakhstan, and more. In these locations, they gathered rare, forgotten instruments and collaborated with a percussion ensemble, Orza, who specialize in ancient rhythms. Together, they have created a unique album that seamlessly blends heavy rock with otherworldly influences.

Produced by Samuel Turbitt of Ritual Sound (UK), Scarecrow III embodies the band’s signature sound while introducing new elements that push their creativity to new heights. The cover art was created by honored artist Igor Odicov, whose works are featured in renowned institutions like the Hermitage and the Dresden Gallery.

In addition to the album, the band shot a 16-minute movie, recording an original soundtrack that incorporates symphonic arrangements and ethnic instruments, accompanied by the Orza percussion ensemble. The film, shot across five regions globally, adds a visual dimension to the album's powerful narrative, bringing the album's themes to life in ways that no typical release could.

About Scarecrow:

Scarecrow was born from the cold, remote swamps at the foot of some of the oldest mountains in the world, where the night reigns for much of the year. The band's music is deeply rooted in the heavy blues and British rock of the 70s, but their sound has evolved into something more eclectic and genre-defying. Over six releases—three LPs and three thematic EPs—Scarecrow has built a reputation for merging everything from medieval folk and classic heavy metal to jazz sequences, organ masses, and forgotten tribal rhythms.

The band is led by Artemis (vocals), with Max (guitar), Elijah (bass guitar), and Vadim (drums) completing the lineup. Each album they release is a new chapter in their endless musical journey, where every track promises new discoveries for the listener.

About the EPs:

As with their previous LPs, Scarecrow has also released a companion EP for Scarecrow III. This concept-driven release, composed of three interconnected songs, dives into a dystopian narrative crafted by Borisz in collaboration with surrealist painter and lyricist Tamas Jakab (Jakiart). Featuring cinematic lyric videos and striking visual art, Invictus Trilogy brings a multi-sensory experience to fans of the extreme music genre.

The storyline explores a future where humanity’s reliance on sentient AI culminates in catastrophic consequences. Told from three distinct perspectives, the trilogy progresses through:

Part I: Deliverance – The diary of a time-traveler trapped in the aftermath of the AI’s rise.

Part II: Prophecy – A grim foreshadowing of impending events.

Extreme metal titans VLTIMAS are set to conquer North America for the first time, bringing their brand of dark, unrelenting metal to fans across the continent. The tour, titled Modern Primitive in North America 2025, will kick off in Houston, TX, on February 10, 2025, and will see the band joined by fellow heavyweights Septicflesh and Ex Deo.

The tour marks a pivotal moment for VLTIMAS, as they showcase their critically acclaimed sophomore album, EPIC, released through Season of Mist. Hailing from Colorado, Talia Hoit’s musical journey began at the age of five when she began classical piano training. Over the years, she has honed her skills as a vocalist, pianist, and orchestrator, blending her classical influences with symphonic metal. Known for her work as the keyboardist and songwriter for AnaDies and currently as the lead vocalist and orchestrator for the band BEYOND FORGIVENESS, Talia has also contributed her talents to the metal band OB NIXILIS.

As a solo artist, Talia recorded two original home studio albums, Fate’s Too Small (2007) and A Little Longer (2012), which were released on a limited scale. After collaborating with producer Jarek Musil for her 2019 single Angel, Talia’s solo career blossomed, leading to the professional release of her music. Her previous singles Abandon and Whispers in the Storm were released in 2023, showcasing her expertise in blending classical and metal influences. Fans of symphonic metal and heavy music will find much to enjoy in Talia’s work, which draws inspiration from bands such as Within Temptation, Nightwish, Evanescence, and Visions of Atlantis.

NIGRUM stream new IRON BONEHEAD album at Death Madness - @thebeast

Today, Mexican black/death expats Nigrum  stream the entirety of their highly anticipated second album, Blood Worship Extremism, at the Death Madness YouTube channel . Set for international release on November 22nd via Iron Bonehead Productions, hear Nigrum's Blood Worship Extremism in its entirety exclusively HERE .

In 2015, Nigrum was born from fire, from snake-infested tunnels and ravenous worship of death - there, where ancient stones are inspirited by bone-breaking and incessant ecstatic dances. From the mists of the central Mexican highlands and the pyramid temples of Quetzalcoatl that lie there came a turbid and sinuous path that took shape in the form of black metal.

After the first years of this journey, marked by hard strife constant changes, the cutting obsidian breeze of the Serpent brought Nigrum to Scandinavian shores. After laying the past to rest, Nigrum established themselves in the south of Sweden. They began with the recording of a three-track demo named Cremer Igne in 2020, which was released later that year. As that year was turning to an end, the band had its first live appearances in Sweden, Denmark, and Germany in its shifted shape after years of silence. The spiritual and creative processes that guided Nigrum culminated in, and were crowned by, the recording of their debut album. Titled Elevenfold Tail, this momentous birth truly announced the band's arrival.

Still, deeper and darker energies lurked within, and so it comes to pass that Nigrum now unveil Blood Worship Extremism. Aptly titled, Blood Worship Extremism takes nearly every element of its full-length predecessor and intensifies 'em to an uncomfortable degree. Nigrum's attack is still clear and cutting in its cunning, but those hideous energies that always threaten to bubble over into hysteria are given free(r) reign across LP#2. On the surface, Blood Worship Extremism almost seems regressive by comparison. For one, the recording is rougher and rawer, exuding an authentically vintage sound circa 1998 demo tapes; lurk longer, and one will find that this soundfield ably benefits the band's skills, as each instrument (the bass GUITAR, in particular) dazzles with devilish flourish. The songwriting, in kind, goes directly for the throat - immediately, unflinchingly - and at times overwhelms with its lack of decorum; lurk longer still, and that one will witness wholly organic atmospheric touches that waft upwards / downwards from Nigrum's cauldron without sacrificing any of that searing intensity. Even with all that intensity, cobwebbed melody continues to play a crucial part on their compass, which points to both North and South: no trendiness in either direction.

Elevenfold Tail may've surprised with its strike of the ritual dagger, but now Nigrum arrive unadorned and equally unannounced, that dagger already placed decisively in your hand. Here, Blood Worship Extremism begins...
