Press Release: W't'M Unleashes Powerful Single "Cold has Come" featuring Michael Bastholm Dahl - @thebeast

Release Date: 27.3.24

FFO: Amaranthe, Halestorm

Location: Denmark

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

W't'M Unleashes Powerful Single "Cold has Come" featuring Michael Bastholm Dahl

Brace yourselves as W't'M, the rising force in Danish Heavy Metal, unleashes their latest single "Cold has Come" today. This hard-hitting track marks a significant milestone for the band, featuring the powerhouse vocals of Michael Bastholm Dahl, known for his electrifying performances with thrash metal veterans Artillery.

Originally emerging from the core of the Danish Metal Cross, W't'M has been making waves with their high-energy singles like "Sorry," "Moments of Light," and "A Symphony of Brilliance." With captivating melodic vocals by Italian singer Marica Moire, their music has garnered airplay in over 30 countries, solidifying their presence on the international metal scene.

"Cold has Come" is a remake of the 2011 Danish-language song "Kold og Bitter," featuring Per Johansson (Ex-Fate) on vocals. In this English-language rendition, Michael Bastholm Dahl showcases his vocal prowess, reaffirming his status as a rock icon. Produced by Andreas Linnemann, known for his work with BAEST and Metal Cross, the track delivers a powerful demonstration of rock vocals that leave no doubt about Dahl's commanding presence.

But W't'M isn't stopping there. With momentum on their side, they're gearing up to release three more tracks, including "For the Sake of It All," featuring Michael Bastholm Dahl as a lyricist and vocalist. This fast-paced rocker promises to evoke echoes of classic bands like Deep Purple and Pretty Maids.

Following suit, "Eternal Echoes," sung by the captivating Carmen Grandi, offers a sharp contrast to Dahl's raw vocals, blending W't'M's hard and soft characteristics in a haunting tale of communication with the beyond. And returning to the fold, Marica Moire lends her mesmerizing vocals to "There Is Only One," a tribute to the progressive rock of the 1970s fused with W't'M's signature contemporary sound.

With an exciting mix of talent and energy, W't'M is poised to shake the Danish metal scene to its core. Keep an eye on this dynamic group as they continue to deliver music that promises to leave a lasting impact.

TDF 2024 - Spotify Playlist -
https://sptfy.com/QkCB

A destructive vortex of extreme metal returns to Toledo, OH this coming June 8th, with TOLEDO DEATH FEST announcing its 2024 lineup featuring OCEANO, THE CONVALESCENCE, VISCERAL DISGORGE, ROSE FUNERAL, CASKET ROBBERY, and more!

Hosted at Mainstreet Bar & Grill (141 Main St.), the all-ages event will be hosted with two stages of non-stop brutality from some of the midwest's most gut-punching visceral spitting metal to plow into Toledo.

Highlights of the confirmed bands include headliners Oceano with their blast beats, sonic double bass, slow heavy breakdowns, low death metal growls, and shrieking metalcore vocals ready to annihilate the pit with their discography since 2009. The Convalescence is one of the USA’s unstoppable tour de forces, pillaging all across the globe to support their latest album "Harvesters Of Flesh And Bone". Baltimore's brutal death metal tyrants Visceral Disgorge bring their slamming riffs, guttural growls, and an onslaught of blast beats to savage the pit. Hailing from Cincinnati, OH, Rose Funeral brings its haunting deathcore melodies, insane blasts, and groove to tremble festival goers. Emerging from the darkest and most desolate areas of the Midwest, Casket Robbery creates its signature style of death metal by infusing horror and occult themes. Their trademark huge riffs and unstoppable grooves create the unrelenting, brutally catchy, and eerie sound that only Casket Robbery is known for.

Since its inception in 2009 by Keith Wampler, the frontman of The Convalescence and owner of The Legend Agency, the festival has showcased the talents of some of the American Midwest's best up-and-coming metal bands. Past editions have seen past support from well-known artists such as Jungle Rot, Malevolent Creation, Filth, Signs of The Swarm and The Breathing Process among many more. The festival has been an extreme metal pilgrimage for fans living in the surrounding states of Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

ROTTING CHRIST Stand Their Ground on New Single "Saoirse" - @thebeast

In celebration of their 35th year as a band, this May, Rotting Christ are releasing their 14th album. ΠΡΟ ΧΡΙΣΤΟU (Pro Xristou) is bound to hold a revered place in the Greeks' heretical history. Always true to their name, Sakis Tolis and his brother Temis pay tribute to the last of the Pagan kings. Today, they're releasing the album's rising and resolute new single, "Saoirse".

Watch the video for "Saoirse":

Pro Xristou comes out May 24 on Season of Mist.

"Saoirse" pays tribute to the Irish King of Tara, who was one of the last kings to resist the expansion of Christianity. In Gaelic, "Saoirse" means "freedom". The song invokes this long-heard ancient battle cry from the very beginning, opening with a distant clang of swords. "I am the wind that blows across the sea", Sakis warns as a riff comes charging in behind him like a tidal wave.

Like all of Pro Xristou, "Saoirse" was recorded and produced in Athens, Greece. Their new single also embodies the history of the band's home country with its resounding choir and thunderous drum fills. But it's also emblematic of the way Rotting Christ has evolved over the past 35 years. Steered by a steadily chugging rhythm section, minor chords and melodic leads unfurl with the towering majesty of an ancient tapestry. At the center of this black metal fresco stands Sakis, the unwavering captain of Rotting Christ's battle ship. "Hails to our ancient Kingdom", he growls, still fierce and full of fight after all these years.

Emerging from the cauldron of the Carolinas, USA — Voraath is an otherworldly, extreme metal act that weaves together the twisted worlds of science fiction, horror, and death metal. Their complex riffs, entrancing solos, and captivating vocals tell dark, dread-filled stories, drawing their audiences into their terrifying vision.
This year they will introduce their world and the lore within through their debut album “Vol 1: The Hymn of the Hunters” on June 17th, 2024, on Exitus Stratagem Records. The band shares their excitement as they release the album art, track list, and a promo video available now on YouTube:
“This album is a dark whirlwind of emotions and an auditory odyssey. We pulled from real events in our lives, interspersing them throughout our complex musical universe. We want to immerse the listener in another world. Our brutal themes may shock you, but our goal is to compel you to join in our quest — a quest with an explosive metal score!”
Voraath began as an idea to merge extreme metal with storytelling, to create a world full of strong characters and raw emotion. The band has created a complex mythos for audiences to explore while they listen. They have created a metal multiverse where they are the characters in this lore of their own making, god-hunters on a dystopian planet.
Within “Vol 1: The Hymn of the Hunters” lies a complex story that begins simply but deepens and sucks in listeners, daring them to continue.
Clad in tactical dystopian armor and alien insect helmets with red glowing eyes, Voraath lives and plays in this nether world. Sci-fi, horror, and metal fans will sink their teeth into Voraath, especially those who enjoy Fleshgod Apocalypse, Cattle Decapitation, and Dimmu Borgir.

Extreme metal force Mass Punishment proudly unveils their official music video for the powerful track "Godless America," extracted from their highly anticipated album "Proving Grounds, Vol.1," set to be unleashed via Wormholedeath.

Check out the lyric video:

This song is a visceral reaction to the nightmare of chaos and division that has gripped the United States to its very core. From the harrowing events of September 11, 2001, and the subsequent wars, to the tumultuous lockdowns, protests, and riots, compounded by economic turmoil and faltering leadership, all exacerbated by a corrupt government teetering on the edge of civil unrest. Directed by the band's vocalist, Erick Laurino, this marks their second music video endeavor. Expertly blending visually striking scenes of real-life events with a compelling performance by band members Erick Laurino and Christopher Milos, this production is guaranteed to mesmerize viewers and ignite a call for change.

Mass Punishment is a 4 piece Metalcore/Extreme Metal band based out of New Jersey music designed to inform as well as hit as hard as the facts and events the songs are written about. Current events on a social, political, environmental, and economic scale. Of government corruption and depopulation with a population facing death by design.

A unique fusion of influences from iconic bands like Pantera, Slayer, Fear Factory, Megadeth, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Korn, Misery Signals, Emmure, Slipknot, Rush, and Soulfly, Mass Punishment delivers a sound that is both powerful and evocative.

Nerw Promo: Red Vinter Unleashes Doom/Death Fury with "We Built Our Own Death Machine" - @thebeast

Release Date: 12.27.23

FFO: Mammoth Storm, Trouble, Godflesh

Location: St. Paul, MN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Red Vinter Unleashes Doom/Death Fury with "We Built Our Own Death Machine"

Red Vinter, the formidable force hailing from the icy depths of St. Paul, Minnesota, announces the release of their latest demo, "We Built Our Own Death Machine," on December 27, 2023. With their unique blend of doom and death metal, Red Vinter delivers a sonic onslaught that leaves listeners spellbound.

Formed in the heart of the Minnesota winter, Red Vinter was forged by Mike Bullock (Ironchrist, Indestroy) and James Achilles. The duo's relentless pursuit of heavy, uncompromising music led them to recruit Ly Arboleda (Ride The Sun) to complete their lineup. Together, they craft a sound that blurs the lines between doom and death metal, pushing the boundaries of heavy music.

"We Built Our Own Death Machine" marks Red Vinter's debut release, showcasing their raw talent and musical prowess. The demo, written and recorded by Bullock and Achilles prior to Arboleda joining as the guitarist, captures the band's ferocious energy and uncompromising vision.

Drawing from their roots in the historic MD Doom and DC Death Metal scenes, Bullock's vocals and bass lines exude a sense of menace and power. Achilles' thunderous drumming provides a seismic foundation for the band's sound, while Arboleda's crushing yet infectious riffs add layers of intensity to their compositions.

Critics and industry insiders alike have praised Red Vinter's debut demo:

"This is heavy as F@ck!" - Mark Adams, Deceased
"Ultra heavy, industrial mix of metal and sludge." - Ed Farshtey, Rage of Armageddon
"Grim and grimey." - Frank Rini, Internal Bleeding (via TeethoftheDivine.com)

"We Built Our Own Death Machine" is a testament to Red Vinter's uncompromising dedication to their craft and their relentless pursuit of heavy, atmospheric music.

New Promo: Backward Blue Unleashes Heavy Progressive EP "Eye of the Storm" - @thebeast

Release Date: May 24, 2024

FFO: Thrice, Devin Townsend, Sevendust

Location: Atlanta, Ga

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Backward Blue Unleashes Heavy Progressive EP "Eye of the Storm"

Backward Blue, the Atlanta-based heavy progressive band, is set to release their highly anticipated EP titled "Eye of the Storm" on May 24, 2024. This new EP marks a significant milestone for the band as they continue to carve their niche in the music scene.

"Eye of the Storm" features two powerful singles that showcase Backward Blue's distinctive sound and musical prowess. The first single, "We're in This Together," is a riveting cover of Nine Inch Nails' classic track, featuring acclaimed guitarist Zach Myers of Shinedown. The second single, "Eye of the Storm," delivers a relentless sonic assault that captivates listeners from start to finish.

Formed in 2020 by guitarist The Matt and drummer Raegan Wexler, Backward Blue made waves with their debut album, "By the Time You Listen to This I'll Be Dead," released in 2022. This concept album delved into themes of struggle, redemption, and the journey towards finding hope in the face of adversity.

For "Eye of the Storm," Backward Blue enlisted the talents of vocalist Jamie Wiltshire from Cambridge, UK, whose dynamic vocals add depth and emotion to the EP's narrative. With a decidedly heavier sound compared to their previous release, "Eye of the Storm" is crafted to ignite the stage and leave audiences spellbound.

The EP also features guest appearances by renowned musicians, including Tim Stewart (Lady Gaga, Rihanna) on lead guitar for the track "Bull Hate." Additionally, the music video for "We're in This Together" offers a thought-provoking exploration of societal tensions, directed by Indonesian filmmaker Doni Bacox.

Produced by the band and mastered by Troy Glessner (Disturbed, Devin Townsend), "Eye of the Storm" showcases Backward Blue's commitment to pushing boundaries and delivering raw, uncompromising music.

Guitarist Matt Bailey, a combat veteran and Bronze Star recipient for his actions in Afghanistan, brings a unique perspective to the band's lyrical content, while drummer Raegan Wexler's extensive experience in sound production for films lends a professional edge to their recordings.

"Eye of the Storm" is the second installment in a trilogy of releases planned by Backward Blue. With this EP, the band invites listeners to join them on a journey from darkness to light, exploring the complexities of the human experience along the way.

Hailing from the Mid-Atlantic United States, Desolus formed in 2019 at the beginning of the pandemic. Inspired by Sodom, Kreator, and Dark Angel, Jimmy Frost (guitars and vocals) and Vivek Rangarajan (bass and vocals) wrote songs as an outlet for the feeling of what seemed to be the end of times. As time went by and the dust settled, they traveled north to Baltimore, where they recorded a series of demos with Sebastian Phillips (Exhumed / Noisem / Castle Freak). Phillips engineered and tracked drums on these demos in hopes to release it for the DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia) metal scene. While recording these songs, they met Travis Stone (percussion), a former member of Noisem and current member of Pig Destroyer. Stone heard the songs and was on board as soon as the first riff played. Soon after, he began rehearsing with the band day in and day out until they were ready to take their music to the streets. Desolus gained traction within the DMV music scene over the span of a few years and began traveling across the United States to spread their love of old-school thrash.

Now, at long last is Desolus' imminent debut album ready. Titled System Shock, the power-trio's first full-length consists of nine ripping songs featuring themes of horrors beyond this world, Satanic science fiction, and a dystopian future that is seemingly within arm's reach. While there's no shortage of bands still thrashing like the 1980s never ended, Desolus immediately and irrevocably prove that they're indeed the Real Deal: System Shock pumps adrenaline and stirs bloodlust with an energy and elan that are impossible to ignore - and even more impossible to deny. But beyond the band's energy overload is a deeply ingrained understanding of what made those aforementioned legends of Sodom, Kreator, and Dark Angel so vital: strong songwriting, and the razor-sharp execution to back it up. Each member here is superlative with his given instrument, locating that elusive middle point between ultra-tight and ultraviolent, and the trade-off vocals between Rangarajan and Frost in particular impart a madman's touch to this already overflowing buffet of high-speed metal. Add to this an absolutely devastating production courtesy of Phillips and System Shock becomes mandatory listening for those who fly high the flag of hate and still feel persecution mania. Desolus are here to reanimate the graves of the old gods!

They wanted to create a band merging together horror, punk, rock n’ roll, and heavy metal to create a sound both evil and unlike most others in their local music scene. Gaining a following quickly in their local arenas, they battled their way through the local bar scene and into bigger and better venues with their high energy and dark stage presence, playing to crowds of many different sizes from 10s to 1000s. They have been compared often to Misfits, Mourning Noise, Pentagram, Ramones, Fear, Venom, and Black Flag. Destroying the Stereotypes: Metal Music Is for Any Student - @thebeast

Photo by Sam Moghadam Khamseh on Unsplash

Metal music often finds itself shrouded in stereotypes, painted as the backdrop for the rebellious, the outcasts, and those with a penchant for the darker side of life. However, this portrayal misses the vibrant depth and diverse appeal that metal music holds. Far from being a monolithic echo chamber for the disenfranchised, metal music encompasses a broad spectrum of sounds, themes, and emotions that resonate with a wide audience. This article seeks to dismantle the stereotypes surrounding metal music, presenting it not as a niche genre for a select few but as a universal language of intensity, passion, and creativity that any student can appreciate. Metal music transcends stereotypes, offering a rich and diverse experience beneficial for students of all backgrounds, inviting them to explore its depths and relax.

The Origins of Metal Music

The roots of metal music are as diverse as the genre itself, tracing back to the late 1960s and early 1970s with the emergence of bands like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and Deep Purple. These pioneers melded elements of blues, hard rock, and psychedelic rock, giving birth to a new sound characterized by heavy guitar riffs, emphatic beats, and powerful vocals. Over the decades, metal evolved into a complex tapestry of subgenres, each offering a unique sound and ethos, from the melodic harmonies of power metal to the intense aggression of thrash and death metal. This evolution highlights metal's ability to adapt and resonate across different cultures and musical tastes. For any student delving into the history of music or exploring the cultural impact of genre evolution, metal music provides a rich topic of study. It's a call to action, a challenge to the stereotype of homogeneity in musical preference, urging them to explore and perhaps even to think, "This complexity and diversity is fascinating. I need to write my paper for me on the cultural significance of metal music."

Stereotypes Surrounding Metal Music

Despite its rich history and diverse fan base, metal music is often shackled by stereotypes. Critics and outsiders sometimes dismiss metal enthusiasts as aggressive, anti-social, or intellectually unengaged, painting a picture of a genre isolated from mainstream cultural and intellectual pursuits. However, these stereotypes are baseless and fail to recognize the intellectual and emotional depth that metal music embodies. Studies have consistently shown that fans of metal music score higher on scales of openness to experience, a trait associated with intellectual curiosity and creativity. Furthermore, rather than fostering aggression, listening to metal can be a cathartic outlet for frustration and a means of coping with stress. By challenging these stereotypes, we can appreciate metal not just as a genre of music but as a complex cultural phenomenon that appeals to a broad spectrum of individuals, including students from every academic discipline.

Metal Music and Its Diverse Fan Base

The fanbase of metal music is a testament to its universal appeal. Far from being a monolith, the metal community is incredibly diverse, spanning across continents, languages, and cultures. From the fields of Wacken Open Air in Germany to the bustling cities of Japan, where bands like Babymetal have fused J-pop with heavy metal, the genre's reach is global. Within academic settings, students from various fields—whether it be literature, engineering, psychology, or the sciences—find common ground in their love for metal music. This diversity is reflected in the themes explored in metal, from existential angst and philosophical pondering to historical narratives and environmental issues, offering something for everyone . The inclusivity found in metal music's fan base challenges the notion that it is music only for the disenfranchised or rebellious. Instead, it reveals a community that is open, welcoming, and intellectually engaged, making it a fascinating subject for sociological study and personal exploration alike.

The Emotional and Cognitive Benefits of Listening to Metal

Metal music, often characterized by its intense energy and emotional depth, offers significant emotional and cognitive benefits to its listeners. Contrary to the stereotype that it incites violence or aggression, research suggests that listening to metal can be a powerful tool for emotional regulation. It provides an outlet for listeners to process their emotions, especially those related to anger and frustration, in a safe and controlled environment. Furthermore, the complexity of metal music, with its intricate melodies, challenging rhythms, and deep lyrical themes, can stimulate cognitive processes. It encourages critical thinking and can enhance creativity, making it a valuable resource for students in their academic and personal growth. By engaging with metal music, students can find solace, motivation, and a unique way to enhance their cognitive capabilities, illustrating the genre's role beyond mere entertainment.

Metal Music as a Cultural and Educational Tool

Metal music is not just a genre; it's a gateway to a myriad of cultural, historical, and societal explorations. Bands within the metal scene often draw inspiration from a wide range of sources, including classical literature, mythology, history, and current global issues, making their music rich with educational content. For students, this opens up an unconventional avenue of learning. Through the lens of metal, they can explore the themes of Norse mythology, the philosophical underpinnings of existentialism, or the historical intricacies of medieval battles. This not only enriches their knowledge but also encourages them to see the interconnectedness of culture, art, and education. Metal music, therefore, acts as a cultural and educational tool, deepening students' understanding of the world around them and inspiring a lifelong love of learning.

Building Communities and Fostering Inclusivity

At the heart of metal music lies a strong, supportive community that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries. Metalheads often describe their community as an extended family where differences are celebrated and inclusivity is the norm. For students, this sense of belonging can be particularly impactful. Within metal communities, both online and at live events, students can find a supportive network of peers and mentors who share their passion for music and life. These communities also actively engage in discussions around mental health, environmental sustainability, and social justice, promoting awareness and action among their members. By participating in these communities, students learn the importance of empathy, activism, and inclusivity, values that are essential for personal and professional growth.

How to Explore Metal Music as a Student

For students curious about exploring metal music, the journey can be both exciting and daunting, given the genre's vastness. Starting with the classics can provide a solid foundation—bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Black Sabbath offer a glimpse into the genre's evolution. Online platforms like YouTube and Spotify can guide students through curated playlists and recommendations. Moreover, joining online forums or local music groups can provide community support and deepen their understanding of metal's diversity and richness. It's also beneficial to approach metal with an open mind, allowing personal tastes to develop naturally. By exploring metal music, students can embark on a journey of musical discovery, personal growth, and community building, enriching their lives in unexpected ways.

Conclusion

Throughout this exploration of metal music and its impact on students, it's clear that the genre is much more than its stereotypes suggest. Metal music offers a rich tapestry of emotional, cognitive, and educational benefits that can significantly enhance a student's life. It fosters a sense of community and inclusivity, challenging listeners to think critically and explore the depths of human experience. As students navigate their academic journeys, the lessons and experiences gained from engaging with metal music can be invaluable. For those looking to articulate this unique journey through academic writing, seeking assistance from the best essay writing service can help encapsulate the profound influence of metal music on personal and intellectual growth. In doing so, students can further contribute to dismantling the stereotypes surrounding metal music, showcasing its universal appeal and transformative power.

Horror Pain Gore Death Productions Unveils "Destiny" - Debut Album from Memphis's Ultraviolent Sludge Metal Sadists, Mudshow

Horror Pain Gore Death Productions proudly presents "Destiny," the highly anticipated debut album from the ultraviolent sludge metal provocateurs, Mudshow. Drawing inspiration from the explosive and blood-soaked feuds of wrestling legend Matt Tremont with Atsushi Onita and Rickey Shane Page, "Destiny" transcends mere music to become a visceral exploration of anguish, revenge, and catharsis.

Conceptualized as a sonic odyssey echoing the tormented prose of 19th-century French Symbolist poet Arthur Rimbaud's "A Season In Hell," "Destiny" delves deep into themes of martyrdom, exile, and the relentless pursuit of redemption. With each track, Mudshow invites listeners to witness the brutal spectacle of killing idols and confronting demons, even if it means opening new wounds along the way.

For those immersed in the realms of Neurosis, Eyehategod, and Primitive Man, "Destiny" promises an unyielding onslaught of sonic devastation. Yet, Mudshow's influences extend beyond the confines of traditional metal, drawing inspiration from the raw energy of Three 6 Mafia, the monstrous allure of kaiju films, and the gritty intensity of classic hardcore/deathmatch wrestling.
