He  sometimes works with other solo artists or instrumentalists from all over the globe to create his therapeutic madness. Recently Josh Freeman from the band ' There's only one Elvis ' joined ' Misanthropik Torment' on a journey into the mind of the deranged. Yanick and Johnny were joking about Johnny’s beard, which would be perfect to be in a stoner band. Soon enough the two of them decided to make it happen. So they each called friends from previous bands to join in. 20 minutes later Eric and JF were in, and the only missing link was a solid singer. The band jammed and wrote some tunes and put together a 4 songs demo in a month or so. They released the demo hoping it would catch the attention of a strong vocalist. They got a dozen offers from singers of various styles. But Dave was way above the others. Plus, he is a professional sound engineer, a huge advantage for a DIY band. December 2014, the band was complete. The Velvet SuperSloths spent two years composing a lot of songs, crafting their sound, and playing tons of local shows. The growing demand brought the band to release 4 singles in 2017-2018. At that time, They had no intention of releasing a full album. The 4 singles got so much good reviews that it allowed The Velvet SuperSloths to play even more shows around the Quebec Province and in Ontario. Late 2018, it became obvious that the band needed a full album, as fans were almost frustrated they couldn’t buy a physical release from the band. Since every resource needed to produce an album was already available among the band members (sound engineer, graphic designer, marketer, etc), They decided to make it a full DIY project. The album was due to be released in June 2020 and to go on tour the whole summer. Then the pandemic struck, so the band decided to take their time to put the final touches to the album, and to shoot a music video for the song Higher Fire (released November 2020). Now the groove metal self-titled album has been released January 16th 2021 on Hell on the rock Records (the band’s own label), and the band is firing on all cylinders and is fully ready to take the road as soon as possible. California's Nomad Eel Records signs VESSEL OF LIGHT Three years ago Cleveland's Nathan Opposition and NJ's Dan Lorenzo recorded their debut EP for Italy's Argonauta Records . Vessel of Light are now about to deliver their fourth record in less than three years. The first single is Last Ride which is also the name of the new release on California's Nomad Eel Records . Opposition and Lorenzo had previously recorded the single/video Son of Man from their Woodshed album before adding former Hades bassist Jimmy Schulman and longtime Overkill drummer Ron Lipnicki.   Vessel Of Light were in the middle of playing shows in March when Covid hit. The silver lining? Instead of releasing Last Ride in 2021 the band will now drop their opus Last Ride October 23rd. "In both Hades and Non-Fiction we kind of fell apart after the second release", said Lorenzo. "I've never released four albums in less than three years for multiple reasons-one being that I've never been this inspired before. I had music to about ten songs written before we did our run of shows in March, but I wrote another seven during the lock-down. I was incredibly happy how smooth Ron and Jimmy came into the picture on our last release ( Thy Serpent Rise ) and we've only grown since then. Nathan never ceases to amaze me vocally. He outdid himself on our first single Last Ride. It sounds like it should be a hit-now I know and you know it's NOT going to be a hit song, but this is next level music. Since 2007, Seide has not followed any rules apart from its own. Born as a trio, a dark emanation inspired by the original Samael, the Parisian entity is evolving fast. From their first self-produced mini-album Dogma (2009), the now quartet has proven to be capable of alternating rapid tempos and discordant complaints. A singular, racy mixture of black metal 'secondwave' 90 s and doom and thrash hints with a timeless patina. This free horde became a quintet with the addition of a second guitarist sharpening its weapons on a first warrior LP, Here Is No Truth released in 2011 (Unlight - Drakkar Productions). Naar Zeroth becomes the new drummer and permanently inscribes his strength and influences.   It took six years to give birth to a second and more ambitious album Beyond The Fallacy in 2017, pushing further the stylistic forays already present in the first album. The distinguished guests bring an incredible touch: Kvarforth of Shining on vocals on the epic “Ångest”, Blasphemer of Aura Noir / ex-Mayhem on solos and Louise Leverd on cello on the haunting “Les Nuits Sans Lune” (Moonless nights). A true maestria emerges from this second effort, produced once again at the Hybreed Studio (Glorior Belli, Temple Of Baal, Arkhon Infaustus, Monolith…).   Three years later, Seide returns with Auakistla, "drought" in Náhuatl, an ancient pre-Columbian language whose culture is dear to the band. A striking third episode in its declared war against dogma. Once again a quartet, the band refocuses on the essential, digests its influences to deliver an incandescent charge. French has become the main language on this album with dark roots, a monolith of blackness bursting into the future. The texts are always chiseled and sarcastic, the riffing in the service of the subject, cursed psalm declaimed, belched or whispered by the ambivalent Count D. ICYMI: JOHAN KIHLBERG'S IMPERA are back with their hardest album yet. The first single "All About You", which will be released digitally on 26 February, shows impressively where the journey on "Spirit Of Alchemy" will go. Already today the band presents the video for the song. JOHAN KIHLBERG’S IMPERA is the brainchild of Stockholm born drummer Johan Kihlberg, who formed the band in 2011 after having worked in the music business for over 30 years, performing with members from legendary acts such as KISS, THIN LIZZY, EUROPE, RAINBOW and MÖTLEY CRUE. Every album leading up to Spirit of Alchemy has been unique in the how Kihlberg has invited his noted friends from the international rock and metal community to add their magic to the songs. This time, the stellar musicianship comes courtesy of no less than bassist John Levén (who has been with Swedish hard rock titans EUROPE since its formation) and renowned drummer Snowy Shaw (who has a history with KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE and SABATON). The soaring vocals are brought to you by power house Jonny Lindkvist of NOCTURNAL RITES, while the stellar guitar wizardry once again is handled by Lars Chriss from LION’S SHARE. Spirit of Alchemy is an album full of focus and determination. The metal riffing in songs like the up-tempo rocker “All About You” and the guitar picking that starts off the haunting “When Souls Collide” manage to sound both classic and futuristic at the same time. Finnish melodic death metal band Obscure Fate released a single and music video Black Moon from their upcoming EP! - @thebeast

Obscure Fate was initially formed in 2008 as a solo project by guitarist/songwriter Kaleva Kovalainen in Paltamo, Finland. The band released a new single Black Moon and it is taken from their upcoming EP Raven's Call which is set to be released on April 1st 2021 by Inverse Records. Since 2007, Seide has not followed any rules apart from its own. Born as a trio, a dark emanation inspired by the original Samael, the Parisian entity is evolving fast. From their first self-produced mini-album Dogma (2009), the now quartet has proven to be capable of alternating rapid tempos and discordant complaints. A singular, racy mixture of black metal 'secondwave' 90 s and doom and thrash hints with a timeless patina. This free horde became a quintet with the addition of a second guitarist sharpening its weapons on a first warrior LP, Here Is No Truth released in 2011 (Unlight - Drakkar Productions). Naar Zeroth becomes the new drummer and permanently inscribes his strength and influences.   It took six years to give birth to a second and more ambitious album Beyond The Fallacy in 2017, pushing further the stylistic forays already present in the first album. The distinguished guests bring an incredible touch: Kvarforth of Shining on vocals on the epic “Ångest”, Blasphemer of Aura Noir / ex-Mayhem on solos and Louise Leverd on cello on the haunting “Les Nuits Sans Lune” (Moonless nights). A true maestria emerges from this second effort, produced once again at the Hybreed Studio (Glorior Belli, Temple Of Baal, Arkhon Infaustus, Monolith…).   Three years later, Seide returns with Auakistla, "drought" in Náhuatl, an ancient pre-Columbian language whose culture is dear to the band. A striking third episode in its declared war against dogma. Once again a quartet, the band refocuses on the essential, digests its influences to deliver an incandescent charge. French has become the main language on this album with dark roots, a monolith of blackness bursting into the future. The texts are always chiseled and sarcastic, the riffing in the service of the subject, cursed psalm declaimed, belched or whispered by the ambivalent Count D. The immersive experience is accentuated by the participation of ZarC (Enemy Of The Enemy) on the saxophone on “La Danse des Pendus” and “Sécheresse”.   This opus was recorded at the Hybreed Studio and mixed/mastered by Julien Hovelaque (Ave Tenebrae, L'Éclat du Déclin) and distils deceptive melodies under the thread of a glowing red blade, driven by a band at the top of its power.   Recorded with Andrew Guillotin at Groovy Studio (Paris, Fr.)  (Glorior Belli, Temple Of Baal, Arkhon Infaustus, Monolith...) It features a very traditional song structure and some of the catchiest guitar parts you will on "Technotheism". The band adds: "Parallel Projection is a very unique track in the context of Technotheism, since it contains almost no orchestral elements whatsoever. This track is the furthest we have ever gone into combining arpeggiated industrial electronic music with fairly straightforward melodic death metal. You could say it’s the most “minimal” track on the album if there even is such a thing with a band like us. The bridge was inspired by Gojira, which is an influence that also sets it apart from the rest of the album. We knew very early on that this song was going to be “single material”. At the year of 1990, Ricardo Santos and Dinis Costa got together and after recruiting Veríssimo Pereira and Pedro Rodrigues, they started the hostilities, with a band acclaimed by the majority of people, as the ex-libris of Azorean metal. After looking for a name to the project, they decided that it should be, Morbid Death. It was given all topics, for good and many years of Heavy Metal, such as a revolution of mentality, on the beautiful Atlantic Islands of Azores. During the next 10 years, Morbid Death had suffered mutations, with some changes of line-up, but nothing could stop the pioneers of the most alternative azorean music. With this purpose, a little was necessary to wait, that Morbid Death had achieved the status of “living legendary”, on the archipelago of Azores.Also, at that time, they were anxious to show to the rest of the world, their music. They released 2 demos, “Nomad”-1993 and “Shameless Faith”-1995. But, in 1997, they released there debut album “Echoes of Solitude”, having the particularity of being the first azorean album released professionally. It was in 1997, that the band established its line-up with Ricardo Santos (lead vocals/bass guitar), Paulo Bettencourt (guitar), Pedro Guerreiro (keyboards), Rui Frias (guitar) and Pedro Andrade (drums). In 2000, the band unifies forces with Sea Spirit Productions, with the purpose to achieve new goals. Alexandra Zerner announce new album (feat. Jeff Loomis - Arch Enemy) - @thebeast

ICYMI: Alexandra Zerner's new album, "Silhouette", is a conceptual work based on a personal story about conquering inner demons. It consists of 12 tracks divided into 3 scenes, containing 4 parts each, as the total length is 47:17. The album is currently being crowdfunded on GoGetFunding by pre-orders of a wide variety of merchandise items as the campaign runs all the way until the release date on the 20th of March. “Silhouette” is a colorful, melodic, and emotional guitar-oriented progressive rock album, influenced by bands like Pink Floyd, Yes, Marillion, Jethro Tull, Dream Theater, Fates Warning, and Opeth, and it’s mostly instrumental work with the exception of the song “Perspectives” where the listeners can enjoy the captivating vocals of Maja Shining from the Danish metal band Forever Still.  Another notable guest-appearance to the album is the guitar hero Jeff Loomis, currently a member of Arch Enemy and well-known for his work with the iconic metal band Nevermore. In the album, Alexandra recorded almost all of the instrument parts, as her musical palette, besides the guitar, also incorporates keyboards, bass, mandolin, lap steel guitar, fretless guitar, electric sitar, and flute. The drums are recorded by Victor Alexandrov with whom Alexandra has played as a support act for artists like Stu Hamm, Greg Howe, and Dream Theater. ERDVE Announces Virtual Performance Filmed in Lukiškės Prison - @thebeast

EST . Tickets are available  HERE ERDVE  comments on the stream: " Our goal was to enhance the eerie atmosphere of the prison architecture with our musical performance, yet you could still feel the smell and the surrounding energy from the recent prison life. We are happy to be able to share this documented footage shot by NO BRAKE productions, providing an intimate look from multiple points of view. Having such an event during a calmer period of the pandemic was a challenge that could've left us with nothing, but we have managed to do this before any harsh restrictions were reinstated. Since this show had a very limited capacity due to the Covid regulations, we made sure to capture this experience in a professional manner and provide an opportunity to those who didn't have a chance to attend the event or would like to revisit it at home. " About the event: This show is probably the last chance for anyone to see the inside of the prison and how it looked like since it was built in 1905. Lukiškės Prison is inactive since 2019 and is now closed for renovation. The stage is set up in a round 4-level hall which is a main part of a 1st prison block that used to serve as a death row for prisoners a while ago. After the death penalty became prohibited in 1998, the 1st prison block was only for prisoners serving a life-sentence right until 2019 relocation of inmates to another prison.
